  1. Many omni's are nice kind lovely people, many of them even contribute to this forum.

But some, like the nasty trolls, and the ignorant morons who come here to try and convert, criticize, insult, threaten, laugh at and accuse us, don't even deserve a second thought or a response. My theory is, ignore, block, report (if offensive). They simply don't understand or don't want to understand, or are trouble makers.

  2. The questions pop up on the Food & Drink list, as well as the main list. This fuels some interest.

Also, don't think for a second that there aren't people, either true vegers or posing as vegers, posting in other sections. It goes on all of the time unfortunately. So some users come here to defend themselves from "attacks" in other sections or retaliate.

I, for one, don't care what other people eat. It's their choice to make, not mine.

  3. I believe that the anonymity of the internet in combination with having a "beef" (pardon the pun) with a lifestyle choice that is different than their own and far too much time on their hands drives sexually-frustrated and intellectually/emotionally-insecure individuals to rant and troll on veg*n internet forums as an attempt to project anger they feel towards themselves at other individuals in order to improve their self-esteem.

    But that's just one theory.

  4. iggnorance

  5. I scratch my head about that too. Besides the trolls, there are a number of folks who feel the need to stop by and tell us how wrong it is to not eat meat - how our bodies are "designed" to eat meat. (<- WhatEVER)

What business is it of theirs if we don't eat meat? Are we bothering them? No.

I honestly think that some of them are not really coming to pick fights - they truly believe the hype and think they will help us misguided, misinformed people.

They're the ones who are lost.

As far as them being offended, that's their own fault. I suppose when someone doesn't understand a certain way of life, they are afraid of it and feel the need to start hurling insults and rude remarks.

  6. curiosity. And the " trolls" are usually just misinformed idiots. Others like myself ,  are just wondering how this whole thing works. Vegetarians motives interest me cause motives are all different for different people. Some highly informed and educated. Some victims of PETA and ALF propaganda.  Ignore the trolls. they are just trying to tear apart something that they don't understand and that scares them.

  7. I think most are just trolls with nothing better to do with their time then troll YA. V/v is also under Food instead of lifestyles so we get a lot of people in here by mistake I guess.

  8. I sincerely doubt that those people are tying to convert us back to their way of life so much as they may be trying to prey upon the insecurities of a neophyte or a person seeking guidance and support. The rest of them are obviously motivated by the venom they spew which is poisoning their minds and hearts very much as the stomach spews forth that which is indigestible or diseased. Unfortunately, while it isn't pleasant cleaning up after a sick child, only patience and love will cure the illness.  However, for those who ask questions about how to prepare flesh foods, or inquire about the benefits of eating them, or ask about their nutritional content, they simply need to be directed back to the correct section on these pages. .They have obviously taken a wrong turn at the Categories. .

  9. I'm not a vegan, and as a non vegan... yeah, I just really don't get it, why they care about what others eat so much, one would think they would get bored and move on to some other annoying activity, but for some reason, this really keeps them entertained. Makes the rest of us non vegans look bad, dammit :(

I don't harrass you guys, if anything I have alot of respect for you being so strong willed and diligent about keeping the animal products out of your diet, I know it takes alot of label reading and having to pass on alot of things that most people don't give a second thought to eating... s***w the haters and keep on doing what you do :D

  10. I personally am not a vegetarian or vegan, I read food and drink questions as a whole category.  This is my reason for seeing your questions, however I always defend you guys if I do see some meat eater with no life harassing you.

  11. It is natural for anyone who believes something to want others to believe in it as well, else they wouldn't be true believer.

I want meat eaters to eat vegan as much, if not more, than they might want me to eat meat, as ethics can me more of a passion generator than simple desire or even truth for truth's sake.

It's a little more complex than stated above but nevertheless it still remains a large element for most people in general. Unless their beliefs entail truly not caring what anyone else does but themselves then I'd say it would just about universally hold true.

  12. because they have nothing better to do with their sad carnivourous existance.

  13. They are jealous cuz we are strong enough to stop ourselves from eating all those delicacies and not being murderers like them and cuz we are smarter than everybody else

    =]

  14. I would have to say the vast majority of them are trolls.  The rest of them get off on making people uncomfortable.  They feel they have to defend their meat eating ways in this veg forum.

    It really makes me sick.

  15. i don't think they're trying to convert us so much as they are trying to justify their own choice.  many of the people that have that attitude on this site are extremely defensive, even when they don't need to be.  i think many of them are rude to us in an attempt to convince themselves that WE are the ones who are are doing something illogical or immoral.

it's like those bullies that tease kids in school about being smart.....of course there is nothing wrong with being smart, but it sure makes that bully feel better about not putting any effort into his own schoolwork.

people are constantly putting down those who are achieving something great.  people are made fun of for being too beautiful, too smart, too successful, or too morally concious.  no one likes to think that they are not good enough or that they are making the wrong choice.

i had an elementary school teacher who used to call this "bucket dipping", lol.  i will never forget her analogy.  she told us that everyone has a bucket full of all of their best qualities....and people will constantly try to make rude remarks, snide comments, etc. to make you want to take that out of your bucket so you don't feel ashamed of that quality.  she told us to defend ourselves when people try to put us down for things that we are proud of so we don't end up with an empty bucket.  yes, it's a silly analogy, but it was a great way to explain why it's important to be proud of who you are and not give a hoot what anyone else thinks of it.

  16. People like to go to all sections and stir up trouble. They usually have nothing better to do with themselves, so they go places and create problems by acting immature

  17. For fun, so we don't take them seriously, just take it as another form of entertainment ... If I like to answer them, it is for fun too :p  I never offended by such stuff  : )

Vegetarian would not be convert back to non-vegetarian so easy just because of few words, unless the determination and resilent power is real low.
