Why do old guys wear speedos?

Because when they were young, everybody wore shorter swimwear because they are more sensible and comfortable. The fashion police had not yet formed the opinion that speedos are not acceptable in the US. Now if they fashionistas would just keep their opinions to themselves, there would be alot less self -conscious people walking the earth, and people would be happier about themselves.

Because they were not out of style the way they are now when the old guys were young.  They don't know better/don't care.

I guess they are more comfortable? lol. I heard from one guy that they are much more comfortable than swim trunks and board shorts because they doesnt chafe your thighs. Also, they are probably easier to swim in, since they are not dragging behind you all the time. And old people probably realize that they shouldnt give a care what other people think and they are just doing what they like to.

i had to answert this question . i am 62 years old . many deep surgical scars . if i put on a spedo . still laughing at the site of what this would be . i think the parents would grab there kids and run . some would faint . g*y people would turn straight , women would change thier lifestyle choice , ie L*****n . which i would not blame them for . paramrdics would be called to help revive the heart attack , and tramu victims . god that would be gross . thinking about this makes me ill . so you can imagine the shock of this sick sight . yeeeechhhee

In most all countries other than the USA, Speedo briefs are the normal swimwear for all men and boys regardless of age.

Here in America, most all men are prudes and since it is not law to wear briefs, only lap swimmers and a few others wear Speedo briefs.

I don't see that many old people wearing them. I do see old people wearing shorter shorts because they have always wore them. Like mentioned many times now, it is mainly in America wear it is not accepted to wear brief style swimwear. I think we shouldn't be so judgmental on what others do and allow everyone to be them selves.

A lot of Europeans do too. It's weird, do people really find that attractive? I know old people don't care though.

The best way to answer this is two fold:

(1) If you are swimming - really swimming, not just hanging out to be seen - then speedos are the best type of bathing suit to wear.  Sure, they are skimpy, but if you wear boardshorts while swimming you get dragged down.  Speedos are just much better to swim in.

(2) As for old guys, most old guys (I guess 30+) aren't trying to impress girls at the pool.  They are either married or have a gf.  Young guys wear what is fashionable (i.e., boardshorts) because that is what girls like.  But older guys don't have a reason to care and are there to swim, not be seen.

I hope this helps.  I am a guy who wears speedos and I don't worry about what girls think.  My gf loves me in them, and plus I am there to swim.
