Seriously this is so annoying!! They walk all over the bloody town yet still won't make the effort to walk a few more steps further up the bus!!

  1. Cause the bus moves and they lose balance easier so it is more convenient and safe for them to sit near the front of the bus.

  2. Umm, duh, because it's closer to the driver and perceived to be the safest place on the bus. As a gentleman, you should get over it and give up your seat it the ask.

  3. Maybe when you are old and riddled with uncle Arthur, you will be more understanding, some day you will be old!!!

  4. It's written in "the old people's code".

Maybe it's because they want to see out the front to determine in advance when to signal for the bus to stop for their departure.

  5. Jay, some older people have a harder time than younger people getting up so they have to be at the front of the bus so they wont get run over by the crowd.

  6. I see your point, but its probally easier for them to get on and off without having to walk all the way to the back of the bus. Imagine if your in the back of the bus with an old guy and both of you have to get off at the same stop, but the old guy is in front of you then you'll be really annoyed because he is walking really slow to get off. The old people will never win with the way you think!!!!

  7. Wait till you are old and need to pee more frequently and your varicose veins are thumping like buggery after shopping, then you may see why the poor old souls need to sit near the front - plus, it gets them away from the spitting, swearing, smoking, drinking little oiks near the back !!

  8. They called shotgun.

  9. Walking is more difficult for the elderly and so they take the nearest empty seats available.

I hope the next one trips you with her cane.

  10. I fail to see how it's annoying. But if it really bugs you that much, let's lobby our MPs and get them to make it law that all old people must get out of YOUR way, just so YOU can do what YOU want do do.

    Yeah, that'll work........not.

  11. Probably because it's easier for them to get off the bus. It's more difficult for them to walk when the bus is moving, so they sit up front to avoid that.

  12. easier to get on and off.

  13. there old cut them some slack

  14. Maybe it is easier for them to get on and off the bus.

  15. because all the teeny yobs sit upstairs and at the back of the bus im so glad i can drive

  16. Because those d**n teenagers are at the back of the bus with their real hair and their original teeth, makes the old people sick haha

  17. Just maybe they really do not walk ALL over the town as much as you think..........Jot  your question down so you will remember it when you get to be one of those "old" people and then see why you think the answer to the question is.

I try to be kind to "old" people as that seems to be all of our destinations as the years pass.

  18. Most old people are considered handicapped, and front seats are usually for handicapped people. Plus their old! But I agree it sucks...we should set up an island where if you reach a certain age, we send to that island. I'd call it 'OLD PEOPLE ISLAND'! So you'd be like; "get up grandma before i send you to old people island".

  19. If its really that annoying to you maybe you should stop riding the bus, or better yet get some professional help.

  20. because they are lazy!! Actually when i used to get the park and ride, i always liked sitting at the front purely so i could get off the bus quickly at my stop. you end up otherwise getting stuck behind the slow ones!

  21. Its so we all can benefit from there "special aroma" as we get on - anyway how can u afford a bus ticket if u cant get benefits???

besides i drive my car everywhere and i get to sit in the front as well!!!

tried it from the back but my legs aint long enough

  22. It's difficult for them to get off fast if when the bus stops so they like being near the door. It's a matter of speed not distance.

  23. when they are walking in town they're probably using a walking stick, the ground under them is not moving at 30mph and suddenly braking to a quick halt while they squeeze through a thin alley. so i was guessing they will hold up much better in town than walking through a bus. those seats were put for a reason by people who'd probably thought long and hard about the safety of old people so it's not rocket science that they should sit at the front

  24. Can't figure out why this would be such a concern to you, but the only reason I can think of is their feet hurt and they are going to get off them ASAP.

  25. That is where the reserved seats are. some have trouble with their balance. The back of the bus is bumpy and uncomfortable hot in the summer. There is often a step to negotiate and also they might have to sir next to selfish arrogant git like you

  26. They've got enough time vested on the earth. They should have first dibs on seating.

  27. When you are older, and your joints are stiff and sore from walking about town to complete your errands, you will appreciate being as close to the door as possible too.  Many seniors have to walk because they are unable to drive now.  Cut them some slack, one day it will be you, and you will hope some young, able bodied person will give you their seat out of the kindness of their heart.  You know that word?  Kindness?

  28. its easier to get off

  29. Have you thought how difficult it is for someone unsteady on their feet to walk up and down a bus that is being driven by a wannabe rally driver. Have you seen the way bus drivers have two throttle positions and on - off brakes?

  30. One day you will be old, you will be slower, weaker and not so steady on your feet, especially when the bus starts moving before you sit down.

You may grow to understand this after you've finished wearing short trousers.

  31. So they can see when an accident's coming and hang on to something early and not get thrown about like the rest at the back who get caught unawares.
