Why do online stores make you pay with credit/debit cards instead of sending you a bill?

  1. Making customers pay by debit or credit helps companies maintain their bookkeeping, stock, and cash flow and carry less debt than with a buy now/bill later situation.


  2. Convenience for the customer and the store.

    If they were to send you a bill you'd have to wait for the bill to get to you, wait while the payment goes through, wait for them to ship the item and then wait for it to arrive. It's alot of hassle.

    With credit/debit cards your payment immediately goes through and they can ship your item straight away.

    For stores it's convenient for book keeping purposes.

  3. Can you imagine the high number of people who might simply not pay the bill.

  4. You prepay that way and they don't have to worry about getting the funds after the merchandise has been delivered
