Why do only females do the uneven bars?

does it have to do with male/female physics or what?

  1. originally there was no uneven bars.  just the parallel bars that the men also competed on.  The bars over the years were spread farther apart to do more tricks and maneuvers on and to make it even prettier.  they eventually became what you see today.  just 40 years ago the bars were closer together.    


  2. Men and women have separate sets of events in gymnastics, mostly because (as someone above me said) men's gymnastics focuses on strength, while women's also looks for balance and (for lack of a better word) grace.

    Men's events: floor, rings, vault, horizontal/high bar, parallel bars, pommel horse.

    Women's events: floor, beam, vault, uneven bars.

  3. It definitely has to do with female and male different physical strength.

    Male gymnastic focuses more on arm strength.

    Female gymnastics focuses more on balancing.

  4. I think so, women don't do the pommel horse either(atleast I don't think)
