I don't think Indian cricketers and other sportspersons are failures. They have not done well in big tournaments.I feel sad for these people who always thinks winning means everything.their attitude make players addicted to cheating, doping and other illegal ways to win.In these population,we have got great educated personalities, businessman who are now succesful in top 10,great doctors who go abroad and become famous. We are now developing in sports as we have won 1st individual gold medal in Olympics and our cricket team is also one of the best.

  1. In a way they are right ,...and  might be thinking   Indians must do in sports much more than they used  to  (sheer population wise)  ,....obviously  because of their potential  human resources...i agree that  India is little better in Olympics than other South Asian nations~

  2. Poor planning and no system for talent haunt is the key of failure, not population. example-China.

  3. I agree with you, people don't understand the Indian culture well. We are not encouraged to do sports. Parents always force you to do engineering or medicine.

People are just showing how ignorant they are when they 'blame India's population for their failure in cricket and other sports'. They know nothing about our culture and the lifestyle we brought up in.

We are on the rise as an nation. We are an economic superpower, so who needs medals and trophies?

Thanks you for posting this question. It gave me an opportunity to express my views on this issue.

  4. I think other countries are just jelous of India.

India is rich in culture, beauty and love.

India is still young as an independent nation, there are still so many great things to come for them. Personally I think India is doing very well. Don't pay attention to idiots who say otherwise.

  5. That's unfortunate that some ignorant people with no facts simply throw the factor of population when they "intentionally" try to tease India for their own self satisfaction but that doesn't matter to us Indians because we know what we are!

    Jai Hind!

  6. sorry i donno

  7. The so called people we select in the game called Election is the reason for all this. They just eat the money from the people in the form of taxes we pay and then give nothing in return except bad roads, poor quality houses with no proper amenities etc. When it is about sports all they think of is the money they can get from the sponsors and pay the TOP players. Everything is commercial and no one interested in RAW talent who are on the streets untapped !!!

They don have proper regulation/body to nurture such talent. All the people are after money and not pride to the nation except for the Armymen and a few others....

  8. I think you might have answered your own question - the fact that the cricketers and the other sportspersons have not done well in tournaments is most probably the reason why countries claim them as failures.

The role of the population in a failure - maybe the indian population is not interested in sports - maybe there are other things in their lives that take top position and thus sports is on the back burner - or maybe not even there.

The purpose of competition is to create winners - and winning is everything - within the context of fairplay and being good losers.

In the role of developing - the question that most countries might be wondering is why is a nation with as big a population as India always in a perpetual state of sports development - Is India more obsessed with Medicine and Business that there is no place for sports ? Maybe the whole concept of physical sports is alien to an Indian - Actually we should have been a world power a long time ago - if at this age and time we are still " developing " something is very wrong -

I think there is something fundamentally wrong with India and its sports initiatives - if there is any such thing !!

  9. First a correction, it's 2 Silvers for Sri lanka. Susanthika Jayasinghe got silver after Marian Jones striped from the Gold.

Population really matters. See top Olympic countries USA, China, Russia

they all have considerable populations. So as the world second largest population India's 1 gold medal is really an under achievement.

  10. lol, at Nalaka, Kenya is a small country but wins gold medals in athletics, all the european countries are small countries and countries like germany, france , england wins lots of gold medals, i don't understand one thing in all this discussion, why these users are so racist dumb @ssholes ~ they actually are indirectly attacking our race , you know what i mean ~ they should know that it all depends on the infratructure , facility , social setup and upbringing of sportsmen and the built up of human being, Africans are much stronger , so they win gold medals in athletics!

every race has its own positive and negative factors and i'm proud to say that Bill Gates has said " Indians are the smartest people in the world along with Chinese". we have got greatest vocational people interspersed with corporates across the globe with greatest brains!

now i hope these dumb people stop using their Ist standard mathematics, i 'm much better in mathematics, can these people tell me , why australia have so many macho men, but no one knows mathematics, lmao ~

    god bless!

    hoep it helps!
