  1. Because they are one of the best teams in the world.

  2. I think it's terrible! It's heartbreaking to see these guys so gutted. It was the worst sight in the world to see poor old Richie McCaw so down and the look on Anton Oliver's face was worth a thousand words. I hope they don't stay down for too long and people don't give them too much of a hard time.

  3. As all the above have said, people like seeing the top teams lose to the underdogs. The New Zealand players are one of the most down to earth people but unfortunatley for them, their supporters are probably the most arrogrant bunch of all rugby supporting groups followed closely by the Wallaby supporters.

Each time you whach a rugby game between NZ and other team, the NZ fan will always tell you how brilliant their team is and how the other team has no chance. Well an upset like this is always has a humbling effect on even the most cocky supporter.

  4. It's an unexpected upset, it's sensational. People love sensation - it's human nature.

I do feel a bit sorry for them, though and was really looking forward to a Springboks vs All Blacks final. The AB's are the current top team and should have been in the final.

However, be a good sport, mate, and enjoy the rest of the rugby. The Southern Hemisphere is still there.

  5. because theyre the best in the world

  6. They are supposedly the one of the best teams in the world?

Yet they cant even win pressure games, it sucks.

I feel sorry for Graham Henry, if he won the cup he would be a legend---now hes just another failed All Black coach.

  7. Tall poppy syndrome sums it up beautifully.  People like to see those at the top fall, its very sad.  Lets hope the next world cup will for once see the AB's enter as underdogs instead of strong favourites and less pressure put on them.

  8. I dont, and should be: The all blacks were the greatest threat to our chances of winning the world cup. Dont worry, the southenr hemisphere will win the cup. But it wont be the Springboks, It will be Argentina.

  9. We were beaten on the day for whatever reason, Thats Life

    We will Be Back

  10. When you're at the top, everyone wants to see you fall. The All Blacks live at the top. It's their home. They've been beaten sure, but for every loss they usually come back with 3 wins. Probably though the main reason these days is the sickening gloatings of the NZ media who give us all a bad image as this smug little one eyed nation of poor losers. If they could just shut up and let the guys play without the added pressure of living up to this inflated image, they might just stop choking in the big games.

  11. It's called the Tall Poppy syndrome..............

  12. As someone who has loved rugby her whole life, I have to say that seeing the Aussie team  cry was heartbreaking.  Also the Kiwis with their sadness. Touched my heart.  So sorry guys, I know it sucks.  I can only hope that I dont join the ranks after tomorrow.  Cant sleep, darn it.

  13. everyone loves the underdog

    Including me.

  14. There is no delight, there is sorrow. If you would read the french newspapers, you would see which respect emanates.

We french know well the NZ team was the best and probably the most interesting to be seen. Obvioulsy we are happy of our victory. But not blind.

Don't fall in sourness. Defeats are revealing what is your character.
