  1. why do chefs wear checked? just a uniform i guess


  2. because back in the day white was a common colour to paint the house... (actually 95% of painting was in white!) so the white didn't show up the paint drops and splatters from the days work.

    so its sort of a tradition, its just carried on from there

Logically I do'nt know,...... for a variety of reasons.... my best guess is, that first they could test out how a color will appear on a white surface by adding it onto their smock or something similar to that, also it is very plain and, just like black is not a color but the absence of it, white is a mutltitude of all colors and the basis of like a color wheel so that's my best shot

  4. because they can get that dirty with different colors and make up their own mess there.........I was dating a painter
