Why do pakistanis (in pakistan) abbreviate Muhammad as Mohd.?

they do that in India too, it's not just Pakistan, i have seen Muhammad abbreviated as Mohd in wedding cards etc...pure laziness or just to save some money, u know desi's..CHEAP

I sometimes abbreviate Mohammad as Moh'd when I'm hand writing.  I'm not Pakistani.

It might be out of respect

In India/Pakistan if someone has the name Muhammed you dont address them by that name but another one in case you say something disrespectful
