Why do parents care so much what their kid is doing?

Why do they care where we were and what were doing with are friends

Because without my children, I would be lost.  Because if someone ever did something to them that I could've prevented, I would feel guilty forever.  Because as a child, they do not know enough about the world just yet to make their own decisions.  Because I'm a Mom, and it's my job.  When you become a parent, you will understand.  Until then, they'll pester you, and you won't get it.  When you grow up, you will say thank you, even if that sounds cliche and you don't believe it right now.

Well parent are going to be worried they never know if you are at the mall like you say and stuff it is just a natural habit for parents to be concerned about their kids!

In my opinion they are just looking out for our best interest. They would hate for anything bad to happen to us, so they sometimes get a lil overprotective. It doesn't so much mean that they don't trust their children, it seems like mainly they just don't trust the people in the world that they don't really now. Honestly i can't blame them, most people watch the news ever night, and see the terrible things that happen.

Plain and simple. Our children are not replaceable.

If something happens we can't go "buy" another one.

We have to know they are safe! We need them!

The fact is, one decision can affect the rest of your life. Parents want their children to be safe, and keep tabs on them until they are sure that the children will make the right decisions.

Parents would really love life if they knew for certain that their children would never suffer because of car accidents, drugs, alcohol, molestation, rape, theft, colts, shoot outs, gambling, gangs, terrorism, and whatever else i cant think of right now.

Until the magic 8 ball is crystal clear about telling the future, parents will always annoy you to make sure you survive till, and succeed in adulthood.

Most parents want their child to be safe and to use good judgment.  Many times kids just don't use good judgment and it's a parents job to protect and guide.

Though, yes, it can get annoying, they're doing it for the best of us.  Sometimes, even though we're not doing anything wrong, they won't let us have our privacy and they restrict us from doing things (believe me, my parents are VERY strict, especially my dad).  But, they love us and in order for us to have a better life in the future, they have to be annoying like that.  It's funny, but it's true.

because kids dont always make the right choices and it's our job and responsibilty to take care of them .until we die usually.trust me,when something goes wrong the first people they will call will be there parents,and they usually will stand beside you when noone else will.

because you came from them, you are their world, their reason for living. They love you unconditionally and want you to be protected forever. It would be abnormal and screwed up if they didn't care.
