Life is a wonderful gift, so why is it when their children are blessed with that gift that parents become upset and in this society where it is common for teenagers to become pregnate why is it that even if the child finishes school that the parents become upset when they become pregnate at the age of 19? I can understand why other parents would become upset if their child was pregnate between the ages of 12 and 16 simply because they are not mature enough to raise a child at that age, but when their child has finished high school and moved out on their own and becomes pregnate at the age of 19 or a similar age they become upset, personally if my child became upset at any age I would be suportive, I admit I would be a little upset for them not using better judgement and using protection but I would be suportive all the same, it is an important time in the child's life, and it should always be in my opinion be a happy expierence, so why are new grandparents so unsuportive of their kids?

  1. Because kids getting PREGNANT (note spelling) at young ages means either (a) they will rely on their parents to support them financially or (b) they will rely on their parents to raise the kid for them.  And the parents were probably looking forward to finally having their income and time to themselves.

  2. I can see your point and I do agree. My younger sister secretly had an abortion when she was a teenager because she was too afraid to tell my parents. When my mom and I found out afterwards, we were heartbroken at the loss. That baby would not have been easy, but it certainly would have been loved. I still think about it to this day, 15 years later...

  3. That's easy, when a teen ager becomes pregnant most of the time the father just disappears...and there is nothing cooler that grow up with both your parents, if it's mature enough to stayed around unless they have a lot of money thats one of the biggest problems, then is how to race a kid is not like getting a new car just fill up the thank change some tires and done, there is time for everything if you are young enjoy it !!

  4. because at that age they should be enjoying life..not having a child.. and there is always the hope they will go to college.but once the grand child is born it is always the center of their attention..and they love it like no other..no parent want to see their child make the same mistakes that they have made..but sometimes it happens..there really no mad at the baby to be..but at the timing...

  5. Because you don't even know how to spell "pregnate", so how do they expect you to take care of a baby.

  6. because parents known they'll end up having to support you and your kids sometime later on...

  7. I think it depends on whether or not that child is married first.  Raising a kid is a huge responsibility and is best handled by 2 parents.  New grandparents don't want to have to help raise their grandchildren right after they finished raising their own children.

  8. It does happen all the time.. and that is the sad part. We don't want our babies having babies. We want them to have a life ahead of them, not be home and uneducated because they had a baby early. We want our babies to grow up, live their life to the fullest, then settle down and have babies. I wish our children were not having babies so young... but that is life today. More parents need to get in our children's life and educate them of birth control, babies, and life changes.

  9. They have hopes and dreams for their child. While life is wonderful, having a child that early means that other things such as college may never happen. So they are sad for that, and they worry that life will be hard for their child.

  10. because ur supposed to have a kid after ur married

  11. because their children are finally becoming adults plus who wants to be called a grandparent when they still rnt that old?!
