Like Shawn, Peyton, Jordan, Dylan, and Ryan. I think it's stupid and ridiculous.

  1. Technically a lot of these names are unisex names and have just been seen as more masculine names before being used for a girl. If you think it is stupid and ridiculous then don't do it yourself but unisex names are meant to be for both sexes so people use them for both sexes. It is a parent's right to name their child want they want and if they want a baby girl Shawn or a baby boy Ashley, let them and don't give your honest opinion about it unless asked. It's not fair otherwise.

  2. It's very stupid and ridiculous, it's also very cruel. Poor little girls having to grow up with ugly, masculine names.

Poster above, Kelly was and still is a BOY's name. It's still used as a BOY's name. In fact I like it better on a BOY.

NO there is nothing UNISEX about Peyton and Jordan. Do you think the well known football player, Peyton Manning is feminine? And Jordan is a surname, making it MASCULINE by default.

Tracy, Taylor, Shannon, and Ashley are all BOY'S names. They unfortunately were taken over by girls. Some parts of the world mainly have BOYs with the names Shannon and Ashley.

  3. I looked it up and all of the names except Dylan are unisex names. Some parents like it like that or some, like my aunt and uncle, for instance, pick a unisex name just in case the baby isn't the s*x the parents were told (like being told the baby was going to be a boy and it turned out to be a girl). My aunt and uncle picked unisex names for both my girl cousins (Tylar Dru and Carsyn Reese).

  4. people are stupid

  5. I knew a girl called Michael, her mum said she just liked the name....

  6. it's not that one is strictly for a boy or a girl, it's just that they are most commonly used for a boy/girl. did you know Carol was originally strictly a guys name?

but i have to agree. it is weird and annoying when parents name their child a name traditionally used on the opposite gender. my guess is that they either planned for a baby of the opposite gender and refused to change their plans or decided to be "modern" and "unique"

  7. Maybe they want them to have a choice to be g*y later, or they just hate girly names. Both reasons are wrong.

  8. A) Why do you care?

    B) I think it's cute

    C) It's a lot better than naming her Sunshine, Rainbow, Talulah, Whiskers, Buttercup, etc.

  9. I hate it. I just don't get why you would look at your beautiful, girly, pink clad baby girl, and name her Logan or Noah or Ryan. It is dreadful. Might as well name her Chuck or Harry. It is really an injustice to your daughter, who now will share a name with half the boys in her class. The other day someone had a list of prospective baby girls names. Winston was on the list. No joke. What is wrong with these people?

  10. easy they wanted a boy

  11. Well technically names like Peyton and Jordan are unisex names meaning either girls and boys can have that name.

  12. I always thought Peyton was a girl name, aswell as Jordan.

My sister named her 5 year old girl Charlie, it's a cute name for her, and I love it.

I like girls with boy names sometimes it's cute never name a girl Jamal or Rodger or bill but a name like Danni and Jimmy are okey, I think I only like them if they end with the IE sound.

At first I disagreed with my sister nameing her daughter Charlie, but it was her baby so what ever, then I relized it was the perfect name for her, it is adorable.

Also it's just what people think as cute.

  13. What about parents who give their sons girls names like Kelly or Sandy.

  14. b/c its awesome, I totally wish that I had been named Bobbi or Dilynn

  15. sometimes i think its really cute other ones are not flattering like Joey or Bobbi or Dusty, but i like Peyton, Presley, Tye, Bailey, for a girl and as for boys with girl names i dont really like it except for Kiran (Keer-in) i think thats so cute

  16. And your question is.......?

  17. They're androgynous names. They do not belong to any gender. Names like Brittany or Rebecca, are generally girls names, but Dylan, and Ryan and such, are unisex or ANDROGYNOUS! Get it right.

  18. The names you listed as "girl" names were all originally considered boy names. And still used by many males.

  19. Because they can... some of those names you have listed are actually unisex names.... can be used for either.... I have a sister Payton and a Neice who's name is Peta and a cousin Jordan... I like it, its different...

  20. its compleatly up to the parents of the child/children. i know a friend of a friend who named her daughter Elliot and i think it suit's her.

if you have ever looked in a baby name book you will see that alot of the girls names are derived from boy's names, my name is technically a "boy's" name but my parents liked it better as a girls name and i can honestly say that i have never met a boy with my name which is Morgan

  21. the only one from your list that I disagree on is Jordan. I really think it works for boys & for girls.

the rest of them do sound ridiculous for girls. I don't get why people pick something masculine when there are tons of beautiful girl names to pick from.

  22. Some names are for either s*x but I do tend to agree that some sound stupid. I guess it depends alot on how many boys or girls you know with a certain name that makes it sound more like one or the other. I know alot more girls with the name Stacie and Tracie but I also know some boys with these names with different spellings. Since I know more girls with those names then I tend to think it is girly. As a parent we have the chose to use names we want for our children so it shouldn't matter but we also need to think about how the world will react to the names you give them.(only for the childs sake)

  23. taylor is a really hott name for guy...

and peyton, kyle, ryan and reese are good names for girls. and jordan is oay if it is spelt jordin. but sean and dylan r streching it.

and lk the third poster.... wtf? r u trying to say every name was guy name cause if u r then no....
