Why do parents give up so easliy and change when they go to church?

my step mom and dad just started going to church about a year ago and they changed and say that their church said that they cant have nothing to to with me cause my life style. they say I'm too lazy and they keep telling that i'm a big disappointment. i say I'm not that lazy i go out looking for jobs and try my best to that. i even go for walks.

can you help me to understand why they're like that?

  1. That's not what God or the church is really about. The bible teaches forgiveness and patience and love. It does not teach us to hate those who aren't perfect like us. I think your parents are going to the wrong church.  It's their choice though.  There's nothing you can do about that.

    Your parents are acting that way because they don't understand who God really is or why Jesus died for them.  They don't understand what it's like to be a child or to have the pressures you have.


  2. Well, I'm sure there is a lot more to this scenario.   You didn't say how old you were, but if you're in school then you should be doing well in classes.   Otherwise, you are an adult and need to get a job and out on your own.   Church has nothing to do with it.  

  3. I don't know what kind of church they are in, but sounds like a lot of BS to me.  You don't say how old you are, but, no matter what, they will always be your parents, even if you have to distance yourself from them due to their religious beliefs.  Sounds like some sick zhit.
