Why do parents hate video games so much?

i have my games and consoles and stuff and they hate it they have even told me but this year they have gotten xtremley strict about everything and made alot of rules like how long can i play what days i can play and if i pass for an accident 5 minutes they go nuts about it can you plzz help me and give me reasons why this is happenig

Think about all the things you could be doing instead of playing video games. Now, if you have a 4.0 gpa and a rock hard body to match it, okay, play some games. If you don't- read, study, exercise... something that's worth a d**n in the long run. My children are only allowed educational video and computer games. Parents have a responsibilty to their children, and mine will not sit on their butts and play games until I am no longer responsible for them. And even if you have a good gpa and healthy body, DO MORE!!! Push yourself to be the best you can be. ( Video games won't give you nothin but blisters and a big @ss.)

possibly they know you live your video games and use them as punishment for bad behavior or something of the sort. maybe they see on t.v. all the problems people think they cause like fat kids and violent activity.
