my mom is always nagging me about how skinny I am it really gets annoying. and my father does the same thing. i'm 16. 5'4'

and 85 lbs. and yeah i know that is very skinny but they know that i eat regularly and my body might just be built that way. even though i'm skinny, i still have curves. my measurements are 31-23-32. my mom is always telling me not to wear anything that is sleeveless because it will show the bones in my shoulders. last week my father told me not to wear a a sleeveless dress to church and he basicly insulted me. i wanted to curse him out because first of all, my dad is 40, 5'7 and about 165-170 lbs. it hurts me becasue i know i'm not the only skinny girl. they always compare me to other kids my age and they want me to be someone else under their own expectations. i am afraid someday this will lead me to do something severe. please help. have you ever experienced this?

  1. 1. Eat as much as you want in front of them to show them you're really eating.

    2. Tell them it hurts your feelings when they insult you like that.

    3. Go out and buy some sleeveless shirts and dresses.

If that doesn't work, show them the answers you got to this question so they see it's not right to insult you.

  2. If you're naturally skinny, then there's nothing wrong with it. She shouldn't nag you about something you can't help. It's just as bad to nag someone who can't help being skinny as it is to be mean to someone who can't help being overweight.

Let her see you eat and snack often, so she can't accuse you of not eating.

  3. well they are only concerned. i get that a lot too about being skinny, cause all of my cousins are chubby. i think that they tell me that so i can look like them. about your parents, you dont have to do anything drastic, just tell them that you cant do anything about your weight. and its better being thin cause you are less prone to weight related diseases like arthitic joints and diabetes. your weight is largely controlled by your genes(which is their fault). if your dna is telling your body to stay thin, it will do so even if you eat in large amounts.
