i think it's mostly to shoot them up ! Because after 2yrs they don't see them as often. why? they could still have serious developmental problems from the shots!

  1. yes doctors are boogeymen who are out to get you and your child...it's all a conspiracy..

  2. When you consider that your baby will gain approx. 3 to 4 times their birth weight/ height within the first two years of thir life and the seriies of immunizations that are required it's sort of understandable.  Many child hood diseases or disabilities show up within that time as ewll and they are looking for red flags.  the good news is that after 2 they only must go once a year and then once they are school age (after 5) you can scale back to sick visits since most doctors will advise you of any booster shots that are needed as they age.

  3. Um, actually, they removed Thimerosal (the additive suspected in autism) frm pediatric vaccines years ago, and the incidence of autism is still rising at an alarming rate.

As the parent of a child with autism, I would be thrilled to point to vaccines and say, "this is what's causing autism, and now we can prevent it!".  But there is no evidence to suggest that this is true.  There are anecdotal accounts, but that's not evidence.

Vaccines are one reason your pediatrician wants to see your baby more often before the age of two.  Another reason is that people grow and develop faster in the first two years than they do at any other time in life.  Babies are remarkably different from month to month.  Toddlers, not so much.  But you already know that.  What's your real ax to grind here?

  4. Children have to have all those vaccinations in order to attend school..if you don't want to vaccinate your child..then don't..its not going to bother me any..just quit complaining about it...

  5. Levels, I agree with you!!!  Not to mention every "well-baby" visit, even without shots, is cash in the doctor's pocket!  <eye roll>

Any parent with a brain doesn't need all those appts to know their child is healthy and growing well.

I'm strongly rethinking certain vaxes and am doing tons of research.  Our future kids will NOT be vaxed to the extent our daughter was, and also not so closely together.

    Edit:  No problem levels!  :)

LOL Kassie you can get an exemption that allows your unvaxed or partially vaxed child in school!!!  Hellooooo...

  6. to make sure that they are growning and developing well

  7. So much goes on in this short span and it's good to make sure your little one is developing in a healthy way.  Also, they are receiving many important/life-saving immunizations (without the aforementioned fetus-parts...ridiculous!)  to keep them and our communities as healthy as we can.  Remember, your child is very vulnerable to these diseases until they receive their vaccinations...therefore it's important to get them early so they can build up immunities.  The diseases they are vaccinated against are horrible/awful diseases that still exist everywhere...don't be fooled into thinking that we've cured them.  Ask your grandparents/great-grandparents about polio, etc and they can tell you how awful it is.

Anyways....it's also great to establish a good relationship with your pediatrician so they know your child and your child trusts them.  So many changes are happening in their bodies and minds and pediatricians are there to make sure things are progressing normally and to answer any of your questions.

Edit:  Misinformation goes both ways...perhaps you should do some more research as well.

  8. so they can dope them up with all these "immunizations" that are actually just pumping metals and parts from aborted fetuses into their bloodstream, in the end causing everything from ADD to death

on a lighter note, its a very important time in the child's life, theyve got to monitor their growth closely to look for all sorts of problems far too many to name everything from autism, eye problems.. things that are much better to find out earlier than later

  9. So many important developmental things are happening during the first two years of life and medical folks want to keep an eye on it.  Also, there are lots of very important vaccinations every three months.  As a parent, I find it comforting that our pediatrician sees Z so often.
