Why do peeps want an afterlife especially an eternal one ?

like whats so great about it, the fact that we die makes life all the more meaningful. and if i die and tehres nothing its like an awesome retirement with no more probs. i mean i dont care who you are but anyone would get sick of eternity thats enough time to do all there is and more.

Because they are that scared of dying.

So we can be with Jesus and not go to h**l eternaly. We want to live with our family and friends and Jesus forever!

We'll meet God face to face..........and know Him well.

I'm sure there's exciting and interesting work to do --- we can inhabit the Universe!    I'm sure there will never be a dull moment and you can talk with people of every generation on the earth.............

You won't run out of things to do --- the Bible says that we will rule the angels...............you won't want to miss it!

Think about it, if nothing ever went wrong, nothing unexpected happened, every lottery ticket was a winner, wouldn't that be incredibly BORING? You call THAT an awesome retirement? Doesn't that sound more like a living h**l than heaven?

Exactly.

I don't think many people realize that eternal bliss is perhaps the worst fate for a human. If everything is perfect, then there is nothing to weigh happiness or joy against. All emotions become neutral and bland.

Life is beautiful because it's finite. If we lived forever, we'd go insane.

It's all to do with the ego; it's as simple as that.

The un-evolved ego demands eternity and resents the fact that at some time in the future it will become irrelevant, a has-been, a memory, a nothing ... it will cease to be.

The un-evolved ego also has no conception of eternity - it thinks of itself as being 'like god'.

It says it wants to be with 'god' and has no idea that IF a 'god' existed WHY would it want a puny little yes-man to share its space?

Because peeps are usually only around for a short time during Easter.  They want to live forever in Marshmallow Heaven.
