Question:

Why do people act as if they KNOW Hillary and Obama personally?

I find it odd that people are getting so offended and upset about what is happening to each of the candidates....as if, Barack or Hillary is a personal friend of theirs! LOL

And, what I can't stand even more is the rhetoric they are using to either support or discredit each of the candidates. People sound like walking cable channels!

  1. they want to feel more important in the world than they are, so they act as if it's them running for president...but the truth is that they're sad, and in my experience, mostly can't vote, so ignore them because they're worthless

  2. What do you suggest as an alternative?  Just voting for one or the other because of identity (woman or black)?

Words have meanings, you can actually use them to create these things called sentences.  Sometimes they even make what's known as good ideas, or at least an idea.  Try it, it's fun!

  3. the cult of personality

    Americans need more self esteem

  4. because they get worked up about the election and it's a very important thing who wins so they try to be as involved as possible.

I personally think it's a good thing that you hear people talking about it so much.

  5. Candidate answers include :-

    1) 21st. century celebrity culture.(Discuss in seperate QA)

    2) long standing human tendency to idolise someone and personalize it/them

    3) no idea what the politics mean or how to articulate them

    - easier to make the candidates "real"

    4) instinctive/preferred response to Alphas

    5) some people respond only to people not ideas

    6) makes them fell better

    7) if I belong to them - they belong to me

  6. They act the same way about Bush. They KNOW he's a complete idiot, and they know he was smart enough to orchestrate all of 9/11. It's completely mind-boggling. People think they know all kinds of things, but they don't know c**p.

  7. ????

Supporting a candidate, and opposing a different candidate are in no way like acting as if one KNOWS either candidate personally.

The reason people get so hyped about politics is that it's about life and death and quality of life. A lot of people tend to care a alot about such things.

People who value their own lives, their children's lives, the well-being of people in general, human life in general -- all such people care about politics, because who's in charge effects all of these things.
