  1. What Alex said, plus the fact that he had Marilyn. He was one of many, granted, but she was a secular goddess.

  2. Hoover, FDR, Truman - those are the schleps that proceeded him.

Johnson, Nixon, Ford, Carter -- those are the schleps that followed him.

Pongo the wonder mule would look pretty good in that company.

  3. Because he had a better system of bringing women into the Whitehouse than Clinton did and didn't get caught.

  4. As a matter of record, JFK had plans to dismantle the Federal Reserve (and also other radical ideas) that's why he had to be killed, the "mob" or "military industrial complex" or whatever would not stand for the actions of a REAL president.  Anyhow for anyone who would pick nits about the name of the shadow government,  remember a Criminal Cabal by any other name would still be a pack of outlaws.

    AMERICA is in deep doo-doo!

  5. The same reason Republicans pretend that the criminal Reagan was great.

  6. Conditioning, conditioning, conditioning.

  7. Because he was well liked and and was shot....

  8. Because for the time period of his presidency,he was considered an innovative thinker, and wanted change for the better for the country.

  9. Because he came across as classy - something lacking in today's politicians. He had real charm, none of the fake stuff Presidents have today so people naturally liked him as a result. You could tell he was the same person behind the cameras as he was in front of an audience, with good vibes, none of the yuck and fakeness that exudes from today's politicians where people vote on the lesser of two yucks. So when he died, people felt a genuine sadness I can't imagine would be experienced if any other president were to die today. People in other countries mourned his loss too, which the thought of that happening with today's President makes me laugh. More like they'd celebrate. And he didn't abuse his power by having affairs with young college interns who worked for him like a pedophile.

  10. I agree with what the person at the top said...that because he was shot, he is given more respect. But in comparison to other presidents, he is near the top so I guess we give him a lot of credit, along with Clinton as well. They're normally the two i hear.

  11. Because he was popular and successful.  That helps.

  12. because he was awesome...

imagine George W Bush trying to handle the Cuban Missile crisis, or trying to run the economy during the space race -- he'd have sent the country bankrupt and never have gotten to the moon

  13. because he was. he led them thru a war and sent the first people into space but that's just the tip of the iceberg. do some research

  14. If JFK showed up today people would expect to see that dashing 40 something guy they dug back then.

  15. I have been wondering the same thing myself. I think that they just always want to think the best of who ever is president. But I think in his case it has something to do with how he was cute and a mans mans and that his family life was put out there. It was more of him appealing to everyone at that time.

  16. JFK (I was in high school P.E. when they announced he had been murdered) was inspirational.  He brought challenge to America when America was taking on an attitude of entitlement.  His classic line, "Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country." is classic because it took the focus of the government away from big government and put the onus back on the people.

That simple concept is the driving force behind the constitution and is exactly what current administrations have NOT done.

He, of course, also set the goal of reaching the moon.  He established that the US would be a world leader in humanitarian efforts when he established the Peace Corps.

JFK also inspired the nation when he stopped the Russians during the blockade of Cuba.

His assassination did bring the country closer ... it was horrible and we all wept together.  Why was he murdered?  There are comments about that on this board.  However, none address that he was against a war in a small South East Asian country that would potentially become a huge war and, always remember, the reason for war is ALWAYS economic.  That war in Vietnam would have, as it stood during JFK's days, put billions in profit into business and JFK was against the US's involvement.  For that, he was assassinated and then Johnson, along with his Secretary of State, John McNamara, LIED to the country about the geographically strategic need for us to be in Vietnam.  I believed them until the truth came out.

History repeats itself today with the lying sack of sh*t, george bush and his lie based war, Iraq.

  17. Because he was shot. People respect the dead more than the living. Messed up, huh?

  18. He was. He fought corruption- and they killed him for it. the military industrial complex wanted  a war,  and he stood in their way- ON PRINCIPLE

  19. B/c he was assassinated ... he wasn't a great President, his term in office was full of scandals and debauchery.
