Why do people always ask Ali or Tyson?

Tyson was great for one era, the 80's.

Ali was great for two, the 60's and 70's.

Tyosn's highlights are against washed up old men and no name fighters.

In his prime he went the distance with tall long reach Tucker, Tillis, Green, Smith, Ruddock and was KOd by Douglas.

Ali's leagacy is that he beat the best competition ever, Liston, Patterson, Foely, Frazier, Norton, Foreman and Shavers.

When Tyson lost 3 years he won a few fights then got TKOd at age 30 by a 34 year old Holyfield in rd 11, and was losing when he was disqualified in the rematch.

When Ali lost 31/2 years he went 15 rds with a prime Frazier, then avenged the loss twice and regained the belt at 32 against a prime Foreman.

Liston, Shavers and Foreman all hit harder and Ali had the best chin and most heart ever.

Mike never got off the canvas to finish a fight.

Kevin Rooney and Teddy Atlas who trained Tyson in his prime both picked a prime Ali to beat a prime Tyson.

  1. Because these people asking are like 12, and those are the only names they know.

  2. ali was better than tyson why because he was better disciplined and knew he had to train to stay on top he also adapted  better later in his career when his speed slowed down he did different tricks such as the rope a dope he could get up off the canvas and take a punch alot of people underate his punching power too ask george foreman or joe frazier they both claim ali hit hard ali might not have hit like joe louis but he hit plenty hard to do the job tyson in his prime was a exellent fighter hit like a mule bobbed and weaved had fast hand speed etc all the tools to be one of the greatest but he had no disipline cus d"mato died tyson mentally was lost kevin rooney couldnt keep a leash on him don king came in and totally helped tyson destroy his career tyson fired rooney tyson wasnt training properly tyson thought he could beat anybody without training he was wrong when he faced a bum named buster douglas who fought the best fight of his career then tyson is on the come back trail and goes to jail when he gets out of jail his skills are all but gone he relies on one punch holyfield tears him up tyson bites his ear in the second fight tyson right there totally gave up he knew he didnt have it anymore then a few yrs down the road tyson fights lewis and just sits there and takes a beating until lewis kos him you could tell tyson didnt have the speed and reflexes he would of needed to beat lewis and then the loss to that bum kevin mcbride totally sad ending to a guy who could of been the top 3 best of all time but destroyed that chance himself tyson is dumb man

  3. Joe S., Ruddiger and John T. Pretty much summed it up with their answers. ''Tyson Groupies'' who drink the purple kool aid and worship at his fountain of fornication flood this site with ridiculous questions and come out in force with the thumbs down over this flash in the pan who when faced with adversity broke down like a Kmart shotgun.

Tyson had his moment in the sun and flamed out. He is now a sideshow freak and a joke to real boxing historians who love and respect this sport.

Most who ask the ''What if Mike Tyson fought God?'' questions are 12-18 years and have no grasp of boxing other than Fight Night Round 3.

Ali was the total opposite as u and the others have already stated and his legend is untouchable.

So basically all the Tyson questions are just to annoy the real fans.

  4. You have Mike Tyson fans, and then you have boxing fans.

When Tyson was big I would always remember people calling me up and being all excited and wanting to watch the next Tyson PPV. But when an actual great fight was on they didn’t bother. These people were just Tyson fans and most believe Tyson is still the greatest of all time.

And yes some people know a few names in boxing. Tyson’s Achilles heel was a good jab in his face would off set his charges. A guy with a decent chin and good jab could keep Tyson away all night. Muhammad Ali has a great jab, and a great chin, and a ton of heart to go with it.

You don’t need Rooney or Atlas to tell you that Ali would beat him, because both of those men hate Tyson with a passion because Tyson had them both fired from the gravy train. So anything those two say should be taken with a grain of salt.

Ali would wear Tyson down and frustrate him, taunt him and talk to him in the ring. Tyson wasn’t a smart man and Ali would break him mentally before the fight much like he did Foreman.

The question is valid though, Tyson has similar stats to Joe Frazier only he was faster and hit harder with both hands. The difference was is that Frazier was willing to take some shots to get inside and Tyson wouldn’t be. Frazier had a ton of heart and Tyson had a little heart.

Ali would stop Tyson in the late rounds. Although I do believe Tyson would give Ali some scary moments, but it wouldn’t be anything Ali couldn’t pull through.

  5. nicely put question and i am a tyson fan, ali is the greatest but he only exiceted fans of his era. ask how many fans from the 70/80's prefer ali to tyson then again fans from 90's and you will have to separate answers. theres a great at differant weights in each era for example ali, tyson,de la hoya

  6. Jordan C- Tyson was one of best HeavyWeight Champions of all time.......................................

And in his PRIME would have given Ali one h**l of a fight!.....................................

But MAKE NO MISTAKE ABOUT IT- ALI WAS SMARTER, TOUGHER, MENTALLY STRONGER AND HAD A BETTER CHIN!......................................

ALI WOULD KNOCK TYSON  OUT IN THE 10TH!

  7. AIL SAID HE WOS  THE  G-O-A-T      NOW EVERY ONE JUMPS  ON THE BANDWAGON  THE KIDS  TODAY THE IST  BOXERS NAME THEY HERE NO IS CLAY OR AIL. THAT WAS GREAT  TIME FOR BOXING AND SLIM TONED  BOXERS  NOT LIKE TODAY. BUT THERE WAS A WAR AT THE TIME AND LOT OF OTHERS BOXERS THAT WENT TO WAR SOME NEVER CAME HOME SOME NEVER BOXED AGAIN. 8. Yeah, I like Ali, because he always bounced back. He had a steel will. I'd take that over genetics any day. Ali went until his body said no.

Mick Tyson had genetic gifts, however, his mind was not strong enough. Ali's mind is what made him great.
