Why do people always not want to turn out like their pearents?

I would love to turn out like my parents!  I guess it depends on what kind of parents a person has.

Why did you ask this question in Sports>Volleyball?  Anyway, people don't want to be like their parents because they feel like they want to do better, children (as they grow) learn about parents personality flaws and although they recognize, feel like there is little they can do to change it, this usually brings out the feelings of "I don't want to end up like my parents" because they finally feel like they can change it by not acting that way with their kids.
