i think its becuz they are veryyy confident and maybe overly confident and scorpios are a very powerful and strong sign, we r too much for ppl to handle

I do because all the Scorpios I know are backstabbing and only out for them and them only, there could be a few good ones out there, but i have yet to meet them.

people only see the surface and don't bother finding out whats deep beneath our exterior, when we are deep, passionate, loving souls, who just want people to understand us and not judge us, people always get the wrong impression, whatever comes to their head first, if we're mean, we're doing it because u deserve it!

Because most people don't know Scorpio is ruled by Pluto the Planet of transformation.

Scorpios thrive through tragity that's how they grow, either something happens to them or they cause the trama for others. Much like Aries ruled by Mars (conflicts) Scorpio is ruled by Pluto (Transformations).

On the outside it seems the same but really they have different purposes.

Pluto causes maturity

Mars test maturity  

Saturn brings maturity

Probably because most people have had the misfortune to encounter the negative types who take things to a bad place. I have known both the positive and negative types of Scorpio, but the unevolved type completely messed with my head and continues to even though I'm not dating him anymore.

Im good mates with a scorpio.. she's lovely, I love her, there's something about her and shes a good frined and she's soooo funny. She's also quite s**y... but the down side is she can be pretty manipulative and vengeful. Then she gets sooooo depressed, she gets real down and emotional and suicidal. Overall she's awesome but she is so complicated

I have heard that scorpios can be sterotyped as self-centered, sexually promoscuis and extrmely secretive.  But I know a few Scorpios who do not fit this description.

You need to get to know a true scorpio first. I think its because we are known for "being interested in dark things, astrology , mystery and such like". We can be nasty if we want but that is usually because you have really done the dirty to a scorpio , we don't take vengence lightly.  

I personally take a long time to trust someone so therefore I appear at times distant but its not intentional I may like you but I just need to know I can trust you.. I once had a boss who would say I scared her because she would say I stared at her a lot and it was creepy, in fact I wasn't even aware of this until she said.  You see I wasn't staring at her I was doing something i  have learnt a lot of scorpios do and that is while deep in thought you will be looking off in the distance at nothing in particula but if a person is in your sightline they think you are give the evil eye LOL.  

We are considered spooky as we tend to have a good intuition and can judge others very well.  

As they say sometimes all the press about Scorpios is not good and someone on here said they didn't know a good one well you can't know many, as most I know would fight tooth and nail to help someone in distress or a hundred other things I could mention.

I'm married to a Scorpio and when people meet him they either love him or hate him. He is very ambitious and focussed. If he sets himself a task, that is all he thinks and talks about until he has acheived his goal - which he will. He is unromantic but can also be very charming, if that is not contradictory. He likes to be flirtatious and feel that he is attractive to the opposite s*x. He will appear disinterested in your life but will display extreme jealousy if a man comes along. The worse thing is his secretiveness - he has to keep a part of his life completely hidden from you so that no one person knows everything about him.

It takes awhile to understand Scorpios. They must first place their trust in you before they devulge anything about themselves.  Once they trust you, they will be a loyal friend to the end. True their are some negative traits to Scorpios as there is to every astrological sign. We can soar with the eagles or run with the turkeys. Most of us soar with the eagles.  Just be patient until we decide we can trust you and be honest with us. You won't be sorry.
