Question:

Why do people always want to talk with ME at the beach?!?

Right, whenever I visit the beach, in any country, someone ALWAYS goes up to me and wants to make friends. No-one else I know gets this happening to them. I'm just a normal English-Chinese teenager, I don't draw attention by wearing bikinis or anything like that.

e.g. Italy : Two non-English speaking people come up and say stuff in Italian (when I don't understand a word).

France: *what are you talking about?? (didn't understand any French back then)*

America: 'Hiiiii there!'

Bournemouth, England: 'Hi!'

And so on.

I response in a polite way, of course, but I like my privacy and dislike attention. What I am doing wrong?!? Any suggestions apart from 'not going to the beach'?

  1. I don't know why, but I would wear sunglasses and avoid any hint of eye contact if you dislike talking to people on the beach.  You could also look for less populated beaches where social interaction is less acceptable.

  2. in fact it isnt too bad stuff.but ıf you really hate  you can say leave me alone maybe thıs thought ıs very crazy  but ı thınk you never mınd and just have fun. You thınk when wıll you  meet wıth thıs people again anyway I were you I would say thıs and you should go to the beach wıth somebody lıke a good frıend

  3. Maybe your just have a friendly face or aura which makes you seem approachable to people.  That's not a bad thing but ok in certain circumstances if you value privacy then it can be annoying

The only thing I could suggest is to look at your body language and subliminal signals give out.  e.g. if you give someone a lot of eye contact or smile (and this can be without you realising) then this is an opening for them to approach you.  Why not ask one of your friends this question as they know you best.  I know one of my friends worked in a hotel and of course had to smile at customers a lot.... and without realising it was doing the same excessively outside of the hotel environment (e.g. walking down the high street etc)

Then look at methods of telling someone to leave you along.  They don't have to be "in your face" methods.  Something as simple as reading a book or wearing sunglasses or lying with your eyes shut.... all of these divert eye contact and doesn't give an open door for someone to make contact with you
