Question:

Why do people ask such slanderous, barbed questions about Republicans and Democrats?

Does anyone else believe that this sort of thinking and these sorts of questions is part of the reason we are in the shape we are in today? Politics has gotten so polarized. There seems to be this great cavern between the two political parties. Why? When you really step back away from the forest, you can see that both parties really want the same things, they just disagree on how to get there. So why all the hate? Is this what we really want our children to learn? What service are we doing them by all this hatred?

  1. On this type of forum no one knows who you are. Non-identity goes a long way to giving people courage to say outrageous things.

  2. People like to stir the pot then sit back and watch the sparks fly.

  3. On the internet in any kind of forum, some of this is simply trolling.  People who just need to inflict a little pain in order to enjoy their day.  In talk radio or television there is almost certainly an agenda beyond simply ratings.  I don't think we are even half as polarized as we appear to be.  I do think that some people would like us to be and are working on it.

  4. It is terrible that we are so polarized, but since this is the politics section:

Let's elect hillary and let another clinton make a joke out of the whitehouse.

  5. The way you are using people, the same way they are using republicans and democrats.

You and they one and same.

You can add because, may be to it.

You know how to get there.

    Excellent.

Then why you want that both parties?

It was two sided sword for you.

    Nothing personal.

    You don't feel bad.

After six months, you come again.

    Pending from you.

    Regards

  6. Partisanship is a joke.  This isnt a league.  You dont pick a team and cheer, but it is far to imbedded.  There is still hope, but much must change.  There is no easy answer.

  7. We appear to be more polarized because of the ability to communicate through mass media and especially the anonymity of the internet. However if you read about historical political differences, you'll find the divisions between political entities that  far exceed the gulf we see today. I too would love to see some action by either the legislative or executive branch that was actually aimed at benefiting the people instead of trying to either enrich constituents or reaffirm  re-electability.
