Question:

Why do people become lazy?

I am lazy.

I hate it. I know that I can do so much more than I am doing.

I know so many people who are lazy. The world would be so much more productive.

Some people I feel are more justified to be than others. They need maybe ...more motivation, more help than others.

  1. They become lazy b/c of technology. Everything is done for them. It's hard to find those who are in the process of doing things for themselves by themselves these days. It's just a habit that by time seems to be increasing. Motivation and things that keeps one going are lost with time.

  2. Motivation is the Key to remove laziness.

  3. Well, first check to see if it isn't a problem with health, a lack of something or other in your system that you need.

Of course it can also be a matter of finding that right "spark" that will ignite your ambition to achieve and do a lot more than called upon to do. I too can go through the days or weeks in an absentminded sort of way, not really interested in the usual things, but given a subject that really holds my attention, like a new piece of classical music I'd not heard before, then I'm all keen and 'fired up' on learning more.

Actually, being a bit lazy isn't such a bad thing because, to me, it's time out when you can reflect on your life and sort out your thoughts, maybe dream a little and build castles in the air, or even come up with a better mouse trap, heehee. Creativeness/ inventiveness comes precisely in those moments when we are not so involved in the world around us.

Another thing too I find is when I have to do something for myself I tend to find all sorts of excuses to put it off, always tomorrow. BUT if it comes down to having to do something for another person, then I'm in harness and ready to go. Odd really but there it is.

  4. It feels good to be lazy. :)

People like to just kick back and just do whatever, like watch TV, play games, etc.

  5. Many people are lazy because they have not developed self-discipline, usually because they didn't grow up with examples of it.

Me, I was just born lazy. And loving it!

  6. People become lazy...because of a lack of a desire to achieve something. People get tired of the everyday routine, where everything seems to repeat itself, with little progression. And so eventually, people stop trying, they give up, and let routine take over. The only way to get through it, is to experience a sudden change in your life. Go out and get a different haircut, get a tattoo or a new piercing, or hang out with some friends you haven't seen in a while.

  7. Its due to satisfaction, When we are satisfised on our achivements ,we think now why to struggle for any thing more when we have got our goal

    and peoplle get lazy

  8. lack of motivation, And just not caring about things anymore...

  9. yes..because as we all know, being lazy is far more easier than being productive, doing things that will make you stressed out; but, as a consequence for being lazy, you will not mature and will not have an unlimited knowledge; whereas being productive is the opposite of it; being smart is a very good advantage to others..

  10. well, i became lazy after being very dedicated for a while and realizing that the things i was doing weren't bringing me any pleasure at all. i asked myself why run track, wrestle, and get straight a's in advanced classes when not doing those things is so much more fun?. then after a while of being lazy i started smoking a lot of weed and that made me even lazier. now I'm trying to quit and hopefully once i do i'll be less lazy.

  11. ...when they surrender their responsibilities...its easier in life to do...

  12. chemtrailsHAWHAWHAW

  13. Lack of self motivation. There is no immediate consequence to being lazy. It comes in time.

  14. I think there is an attraction to Rest that can't be denied.

Motivation is how you become un-lazy.

If I get just 15 minutes of a taste for rest, I desire rest and I like some of the things this world has to offer when at rest. I can get very motivated to rest, so motivation is like 31% of response to the question I hear you asking.

I think we become lazy because sometimes Mind will tell body, "slow down, you move too fast...you got to make the moment last...."
