Question:

Why do people behind always speed up when I put on my turn signal to change lanes?

It seems that everytime I am on the freeway when I need to change lanes, if I put on my turn signal as I should, the car behind me and in the lane I need to be in speeds up to prevent me from changing lanes.

The whole point of the turn signal is to alert other drivers of your intentions so as to prevent an accident. Yet, drivers today use that signal to prevent you from changing lanes.

Sometimes I think it is best just to changes lanes without the signal. At least no one would be racing up to prevent one from changing lanes.

  1. You live in Phoenix too, huh? I've never seen anywhere as bad as it is out here. I've driven in every major city in the US, and the people that drive in Phoenix now are the worst of the worst. You cannot go a day out here without a fatal car accident.

Why do they do it? Because they are more important than you, and have important places to be. They need to get places in their F25000 liftedtruck, or their super-diesel Ram 4x4x666, or their Mercedes SL7500 with the Turbo-nitrous twin engines, or even their 89 Astrovan. And regardless of whether you use your signal, don't use it, or fire a few shots into the air, there is no reason ANYONE should let you over(I really hope the sarcasm dripping off this doesn't get on you).

It's just that people don't have any consideration for their fellow man nowadays. It's the same reason women are told to yell "Fire" when they get into a dangerous situation, not "Help". No one will come if you yell help, but expect a large crowd at a fire. Wouldn't want to miss the destruction of someone elses life.

  2. great question, I think the flashing light wakes them up, I know what you mean...everybody, wake up and drive.

  3. No consideration for other drivers! ROAD HOG!
