Question:

Why do people believe in love?

Personally, I think love only exists in fairy tales. A marriage is successful based on how much headaches you are willing to tolerate and not on love. For those of you that believe in love, come back and comment after you have lost all your money and your house or after you get cheated on.

  1. If you don't believe in love you'll never have it. If you have it though you'll not turn out like so many I know. They are old, bitter and alone. I've made it to the point all our children are grown and grandchildren are now taking there place. As for my wife and I after many years we still love one another. Money, house problems these are the times to pull closer together. We've seen those days. Cheated on it happened to both of us in other relationships. Love is a quest and a job at times it's the place you lay all the me me me things down. Take it from an old man It Really Is Worth It.

  2. Once bitten twice shy. It is easy to comment on you than make a comment about love. You are a divorcee , who lost half your property to your wife.

Little fox still hates sour grapes.

  3. A false sense of security and comfort.

  4. Yes their is love, but it takes more than love to make things work.  There are different loves, like the love of your children no one can love a spouse the same way.  I am 55 years old and I have had only one true love of my life, but because of changes in my life, I found I could not be with him anymore and still be sane.  but I will never love a man like that again.  There's a saying  "there's a reason for different seasons in a person's life.  That 14 year season in my life was to show me that I truly knew what it felt like to love a man.  I don't know  your age, but as you getter older you look at things different.  I am single now raising my granddaughter and I am happy knowing that just because you love someone you don't have to be with them to be complete.

  5. hey- I am right there with ya--- I guess I will admit though I made a couple bad choices....

  6. It's all hormones and downhill from there if your talking about s*x. There are a lot of different kinds of love though, like the love i have for my daughters, or the love i have for my deceased mother, dad, son, and sister. The love i have for my country and the men i fought with in Viet Nam.

  7. In reality, relationships are based on using each other for mutual benefit.  Call it love, compatability, chemistry or whatever you want.  We're still just using each other for s*x, financial security, protection, reproduction, social status etc.  But that explanation makes our emotions seem cheap and mechanical, and most people want to feel valuable and free, so they rather believe in magical ideas like unconditional love and soul mates.
