Why do people believe that HHH has so much clout backstage??

Is it simply because he's married to Stephanie McMahon? Or is there something else that I'm missing?

That's pretty much it, and I think people really overestimate how much weight he does pull.  If he were as bad as people made him out to be, he would have been holding the strap for the past 8 years, but what people fail to realize is that Trips actually won his first world title while he was romantically linked to Chyna.  Like him or not, the man earned his spot, and even though he's boinkin' the boss's daughter, he's still a great worker and a huge draw.

what ALOT of people don't realize, is that HHH has a big role in the wwe company. yes he is a big talent, but he is also a writer, and came up with many of the great story lines that viewers loved to watch.

stone cold vs vince, the rock n sock connection, dx to name a few.

Simply yes. Its because of his marriage to Stephanie. Would Triple H have as much "clout" today had he not married Stephanie? I don't think so, but he would simply because of his long tenure in the WWE.

He gave an interview a little while back where he said there are all these young guys there who don't care about getting better; all they care about is video games and listening to their ipods while there are veterans like Arn Anderson, Mike Rotundo, Jamie Noble, Ricky Steamboat and others working back there to get advice from and work on their in-ring and promo skills. When he said that, I got the feeling that all the thing he's accomplished, he's done because he truly loves wrestling and got on the good side of the higher ups, not to mention befriended the right people at the right time. I don't believe he married Steph to get a better position backstage. Have you seen her? She's pretty hot. In her out-of-character interviews, she comes off as kinda down to earth. I heard her say right after the skit where she slapped her mom, they had to rush her out of the ring because she started crying uncontrollably (she loves her mom THAT much).

I didn't really intend to type so much, but the bottom line is the guy paid his dues. I saw him wrestle in WCW as Jean Paul Levesque and lose to Alex Wright. I'll bet 90% of wrestling fans don't know who the **** Alex Wright is and it's not really important. HHH loves wrestling and despite all his injuries, keeps coming back for more. If I were in the business, he'd be on my Christmas list.

Nope its just the face hes married to the bosses son, its wrong but u cant blame him for favouring hhh, hes a good wrestler obviously
