Why do people believe the world is such a terrible place?

somebody is losing their job to someone less intelligent,someone is not that popular,some people are terminally ill, some people hate their jobs, some people had a bad childhood,  somebody's wife is banging someone else, someone is worried  they are butt ugly, beautiful chicks think guys only like them for their looks, some people have poor social skills and prefer to watch tv all day, some people are looking for answers to life's questions to religion, some people are biologicall messed up, so they have to take prozac all the time, why do u think drugs,alcohol,tobacco, entertainment magazines,television and hollywood movies are in such high demand? it's because most people like to escape by taking these chemicals, want to escape into hollywood dreamland or if u r a kid, u read harry potter(a boy who fly's on brooms), and they tell u  they are nurturing a  kid's imagination.

In Mexico,Africa,India and China

people are forced to drink contaminated water because if they did not ,they would quickly die of thirst

Instead they die slowley of disease

Millions are starving to death and others are being bombed

I realise they are not Americans so it is not important but it sure influences those pèoples atitudes

because its getting polluted and no one is doing anything about it, because all the countries are getting in wars over stupid things, because of the sweatshops and those nasty people that run them, because of nuclear weapons, because of those stupid religious differences, and because we're overpopulating.

Its not that I believe that it is a terrible place, it is just that I am scared for our future with all of the pollution and garbage...

not all people believe that the world is such a terrible place. a lot of people believe that there are terrible people taking terrible actions that are turning parts of the world terrible. not everyone is smart about decisions they make or knows whats right or wrong. so they make decisions when they dont know what they are doing. say for instance, Bush deciding to go to war with iraq and all.  he can be smart and he can be stupid (most of the time) =]. but just from that one decision, all war broke lose and thousands have died. making iraq ' a terrible place' because the iraqi people dont know what to do and how to react so they go sucidal and others follow thinking that they are doing it for their country. alot of iraqi people think we are trying to sabotage their country and kill all of them but we are really trying to help in many ways. i dont believe the world is such a terrible place, i thin k that there are terrible people, terrible choices, terrible government at time and just terrible actions. i love the world and i dont think that it is any where near terrible its just some things or people that can make it out to be.   thats what i think  =]

Did the people in the statement above travelled to another world? The lifestyle and experiences been through by them makes them feel like that. Those who are living in luxury and indulgence believe that the world is like heaven. Those who are suffering in their life believe that world is like h**l. It's all about mentality. Life is filled with obstacles and barriers. Those who overcome them would be able to treat defeat and success equally. If they've gone through their life with a good mentality as a guidance they wouldn't feel the world is such a terrible place.
