  1. When the body experiences G-forces, blood is forced towards the lower body (away from the brain) due to gravity. Since blood flow is reduced, people may experience slightly blurred or "tunnel" vision for a second or two. I have heard this referred to as "greying out" and is NOT considered truely blacking out. As with any amusement ride, this is one reason that if someone has any major health problems such as heart disease, they are strongly advised not to ride.

I have not ridden Goliath, but I have ridden Titan at Six Flags Over Texas many, many times safely. Titan is very similar to Magic Mountain's Goliath and is produced by the same manufacturer.

Many tests are performed prior to a ride's opening to the public to make sure that G-forces are at a safe level for riders. A new ride has to test for a certain number of cycles with water dummies before an actual human being can ride.

  2. because they are afraid of toe rides and even could be scar of high when i go on roller coaster i start shaking  so bad and my heart start beating faster because i get so scar of being so high up that's what at least I'm thanking of

  3. Can't take the punch.

  4. People black out on roller coasters probably due to low blood sugar, or just the thrill of moving that fast "freaks them out".

  5. It's called "G" force.  The amount of gravities pressed against the body during the big loops a roller coaster goes through.  If you're heart is not use to multiple "G" forces, (or number of body weights.  Example 1 G is equal to your own body weight, 2 G's is twice your body weight and so on.  If you heart and body in general is not use to it, the blood flow is reduced and you pass out as a result.)

  6. I think they hold their breath. I live in a suburb of Cleveland Ohio and LOVE going to Cedar Point, America's Coaster Park several times a year. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cedar_Point

Cedar Point has the most coasters of any park in the US but also they have the 2 top rated coasters by Coaster Enthusiast Magazine......The Millennium Force, The Magnum XL 100 and the Raptor is rated in the top 10 best coasters! We always wait to get the first seat in the train. Incredible! Talk about an adrenaline rush!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Phenomenal!

I have never seen anyone pass out in all my times on the coasters. But, if someone does faint I would imagine it's because they hold their breath!

Just go and enjoy Six Flags and remember to BREATHE! The first time is always scary, after that it is a thrill!

  7. probably because they get dizzy
