Why do people bow to Royalty?

In my eyes,no one is better than anyone else.

It is stupid to bow down to someone simply because they were born into a certain family.

I also think things like VIP area's are stupid.

Why should somebody be treated differently to someone else simply because of their status/wealth?

  1. I totally agree with you- being born into a certain family doesn't mean that people should bow to them anymore than you or I.

I guess it just comes down to decades ago when there was extreme categorization between the wealthy and poor.

but id like to think we have evolved from that and realized that its unnecessary and everyone should be respected the same way.

You can respect someone without bowing and they can just know it in their mind.

  2. Your right they shouldn't be done that way at all.  But the poor have always been used by the rich to further their evil plans.

Most people want to be worshipped.  That is what caused Satan to sin, was he wanted to be worshipped.

Why do they try so hard to be president?

It doesn't pay that good and it is a very difficult job.

But they get to say "I am the ruler of the most powerful country in the world."  So that makes me powerful!

Why do people always say, I knew president Kenedy?

Or the astronaut Level or shepard?

If you cannot be some one important then it is good to know someone important they think.

In the end wether poor or rich we grow old die and get sick.

  3. Because life is full of sin.

  4. In ancient times, the bow was to symbolize submission to that person's authority and to the crown they wore.

  5. Its a sign of respect, such as when you were (are) in school you call a teacher sir or ma'am or Mr.,Mrs.,Miss. In some cultures you shouldn't be over the head of the ruler.

  6. It is a matter of custom and respect to bow to Royalty.  Although I am not a British subject, I would bow before the Queen.

In my karate dojo, I bow to the Master and to the black belts who teach or assist in teaching.  It is a matter of respect.  It does not mean that they are any better than I am.

I think certain VIP areas are stupid, also.  However, if people pay extra for the VIP areas, so be it.  I am happy to have a cheaper ticket for my flight.  Let the rich people pay more and  they have my blessing to have a VIP area.

I am a freeborn person and consider myself to be as good as anybody else. There are a lot of people who are richer than I am, that have better jobs than I have, that earn more money than I do, drive nicer cars than I have, and that may belong to exclusive country clubs, but I consider myself to be their equal.  All those attributes aside, I am as good as anybody else.

  7. Because they are crawlers

  8. It may be helpful to look at kings, queens and other royalty as symbols that also happen to be human beings.

In a republic, such as the United States or France, there is no monarch and so a symbol such as the national flag becomes the main object of respect.  One could point out that a flag is "just a piece of cloth" like any other piece of cloth.

A monarch (king, queen, emperor) is the ultimate symbol of the country.  Bowing to a monarch is akin to saluting a flag.

  9. i agree but i guess its a sign of respect to them.

  10. I bow to no-one.

I am a free citizen and not a subject.

  11. Below is a link that might give some insight why men bow, women courtesy.

    best of luck to you!

  12. yeah, i think its a load of hogwash myself darling.

I think the majority of people just love doing what they're told and don't think for themselves... or if they don't do that, they fear being the "odd one out".

and i don't see it as a sign of  respect, more of a sign of submission. f*ck that.

  13. well they respect them.

  14. It's an action which can be traced back to ancient Asian culture... it's either a sign of respect, or a sign that you consider a person as being better than you.

Or, bowing could symbolize the end of a performance, or as a thanks for applause... it would depend on the situation.
