Why do people buy IPhones?

When they are going to be ripped off by the Phone companies and they know it.

An IPhone says, "I'm so rich, that I can throw money away on this toy!"

They are intresting little gadgets but they are very expensive. Apple makes it seem that they are cheap buy saying $200 for the 8gb model but the plan costs some people 1000's of dollars per year. I would'nt mind one myself but i would'nt be willing to pay all of that money. I think the only people who have them are probably rich or need them. I know that lots of companies give there employees iphones. Some companies get blackberries and stuff. Same with laptops. So i'm thinking that people either need them or want to show off.

I dont know, I would get the instinct insted. The IPhone doesnt even have a camera and it has a ton of problems. I think its just because they can, but I guess its just the person; my mom wants to get one so who knows?

Okay, you may have your opinions, but that's not true. They're fun, great for taking photos, talking, getting unlost, listening to music, writing stuff down, and everything. That's a reasonable price for all those luxuries.

people want the latest technology. they are ready to by the first thing NOBODY else most likely they know will have. they are nice phones, but duh, ripped off is just the first thing thrown at you. you have to by data plans for the internet on the the stupid thing, and most people ik dont even understand what kb usage is with internet on phones. your going to have to pay even more. also, some people want to make others jealous, or say hey, ive got the iPhone, so im better than you.

When you say they know they're going to be ripped off, it's probably only subconsciously.  They sort of lie to themselves, you know?

People mainly buy iPhones in all likelihood because of it's sleek design - and maybe because they've purchased other Apple products like iPods and liked them.  I personally will never not get an iPhone - I suppose it's cool with it's unique features, but it can be a pain a lot of the time too.

People should realize that.  Good question.

People buy iPhones because the employees that work at places like Apple are trained to convince people in a matter of 20 minutes to get this phone, it'll change your life!! This is not true. People are gullible. Just because it gets connection in the store doesn't mean it gets connection anywhere else. Plus, having the iPhone just screams ( if the person is smart about this stuff normally ) hey, i have money and look what i'm throwingg it away on now !! I would say it has a lot to do with people not being original. When everyone around you has one, you feel the need of fitting in. Also, people have no idea they are getting ripped off, they just see the phone as something exotic, so they want it, at any cost. Most people think that the current price it's actually cheap, even when Apple and AT&T are making huge profits.
