Why do people buy ipods?

Question

Other than a h**l of a lot of advertising, what is so attractive about ipods? You have to deal with the headfuck that is itunes, you pay a lot of money for a complete lack of quality and they have a ridiculously limited lifespan, not to mention some even come preloaded with windows-targeting malware.

So why do people still buy them when there are so many better, more affordable and infinitely better sounding options available?

I agree, best bet would be to not buy an iPod at all.

Content is costly. syncronization as the pits as it wipes out your content if you try to get your friends files.

You would do better to purchase an MP4.

They deliver great picture quality, play almost any format, act like a flashdrive when you want to move files from one PC to another.

And too many other advantages to list here.

People do respond to advertising. Also, they tend to go with a brand they have heard of, as opposed to one they haven't. Most people probably know someone with an ipod, and probably know someone who likes theirs. Also, they have the advantage of being supported by a computer giant. I bought an ipod and I have never gotten any viruses or spy ware from it. I like it, and I'm planning on buying another one.

They hold a lot of songs, are portable, make great gifts, and you can have giftcards. Yay.

Why do you have a computer then, if you're against stuff like that?

So they can listen to music on the go. (I know that you can accomplish this feet with other things such as a zune.)  But Ipod's the big thing right now.

i have had my ipod for almost a year and a half

its in good shape, and i use limewire so i don't have to pay for the songs over itunes.

and i bought it because you can listen to GOOD quality music when ever i please to.

they arent that expencive now tht they are comming out with all these new things.

so to be honest with you, i think you have it all wrong.
