when you think about it the democrats are more a centrist party from what i understand. from the policies ive read they definately arent left wing in my eyes. i guess though when you only have two main parties youd have the view that one is right and one is left. so yeah really is obama a extreme liberal like so many people say?

me personally doesnt think hes even close

  1. Because Obama has been found by several think tanks to have the number one most liberal voting record in the senate.  That might have something to do with why people call him a liberal or left wing,

  2. Yes Obama is an extreme liberal. He's currently pretending to be more conservative in order to get more votes. Thats what Democrats have to do to be elected...pretend to be something you're not.

  3. They don't know what they're talking about. He's a centrist liberal, just like all the democrats who ran this year (except MAYBE Kucinich, and that's really pushing it).

  4. Holy Cow is a Kool Aid drinker.  Obama is rated as the most liberal voting senator and Biden is rated as the third most liberal...based on their voting records not opinions and by the way name a Policy:

  5. Well his pastor was a black liberationalist, and he tends to be bringing in social reform with national healthcare, which both hit on being a little to the left. Come on do we really want to put healthcare in the hands of government, look at welfare, and social security.

  6. Ignorance.

  7. This dates back to the seating arrangements in the French Parliament.  The left wanted to abolish the existing social order in favor of a more equal distribution of wealth.  I've heard that Obama wants to tax IRA's, so anybody with savings in an IRA will have their wealth sapped and probably given back out to folks who aren't saving or can't save.  The problem with this is that disparity in wealth actually drives progress.

If you put a man on one side of a raging river, and an ingot of gold on the other side thats gleaming at him, he will scrounge up whatever means necessary to get across that river.  Now if this same man looks across this raging river and sees nothing of value, he's going to simply look for the path of least resistance which may or may not result in new methods of crossing the river.  So in conclusion, disparity is not always a bad thing...its more a double edged sword.
