Why do people call other people a "troll" on this yahoo answers and what does it mean?

I see the word "troll" on some of the answers and am curious what it is

i dont know why we call them trolls but thats what they are some are funny and some are just annoying

an example of a troll question "OMG help i think im pregnant can i get pregnant from eating old peanut butter im scared?"

Troll or trolling means to purposly make an argument, or when you make up fake questions to get attention.

They're the people that post stupid questions or stupid answers for stupid reasons.

Wikipedia says a troll is "someone who posts controversial and irrelevant or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum or chat room, with the intention of provoking other users into an emotional response or to generally disrupt normal on-topic discussion."

I think that's a pretty good explanation.
