Why do people care about animal rights!!!?

Think about this ... People seem to care more about puppies and furs rather than education and fairness amongst humans. I believe that the people who really care about animals so strongly are very lonely and need help..

I have a dog but I won't blink to put his life out if that means saving a human life.... What is the matter with the united states, when they send people to jail for years for fighting dogs or killing animals .... Which is more important the life of a human or the life of an animal... I don't really believe they should be traded in any type of way, except by monetary fine...

ps..remember we eat cows and chickens and goats and lamb and turkey and bear .. deer.. duck...o and pigs which are smarter than dogs... and I don't see you lining up to go to jail???

so am i carzy or am I right.... just checking

  1. I strongly agree with everything K Shinn said:do you see animals torturing other animals to death?animals(people are animals to,you know, but I'll refer to them seperatly for your sake)don't steal, lie, torture,or cuase pain and suffering for power and wealth.I believe animals are far supirier to humans.as for "I have a dog but I  won't blink to put his live out if that means saving a human life",I have a huge problem with people who think like you do.I have 8 dogs and I woudn't "blink" to risk my life to save one of theirs, and I know I have their undying devotion and that any one of my dogs would fight to the death for me.yes, perhaps I would "put out their life" for a human, but I would certainly "blink",I would mourn their passing for the rest of my life.

then there's "remember,we eat cows and chickens...and I don't see you lining up to go to jail"first of all,who is "we"?I was raised a vegitarion and will remain one my whole life;I can certainly understand people eating meat to survive, however, their are thousands of other options of nonmeat things to eat in our modern world.second of all,if,let's say,a pig killed and ate a human, the pig would certainly be killed, however, if it's the other way around, nothing whatsoever would happen to the human

.As I said,I have a deep problem with people who think like you do;and yes,you are crazy.

  2. “I believe that the people who really care about animals so strongly are very lonely and need help.. “

What is your reasoning for this? You’ve just made a blanket statement about millions of people. At least try to reason it.

“I have a dog but I won't blink to put his life out if that means saving a human life....”

What is your reasoning for this? Why is a human life ‘more important’ than an animal’s life? We all experience the world from a very unique viewpoint – our own. We are all conscious beings and all experience pain and emotions. No matter what we do in life, our successes, our failures, our deeds and misdeeds, we are all on an equal footing. If you say that animals are lesser because they aren’t intelligent or don’t ‘contribute’ to society, then you’d have to admit that babies and people with mental retardation are lesser, too, which I can bet you won’t do.

“What is the matter with the united states, when they send people to jail for years for fighting dogs or killing animals ....”

The matter is that people get sent to jail for killing dogs and cats but not for killing millions of pigs, sheep, cows and chickens. That’s what we call speciesism, placing one species over another, which is what you’re doing with humans. The Nazi’s probably made a similar statement to yours about the Jews when they were trying to come into power.

“Which is more important the life of a human or the life of an animal... I don't really believe they should be traded in any type of way, except by monetary fine...”

Again, what is your reasoning, if any?

“ps..remember we eat cows and chickens and goats and lamb and turkey and bear .. deer.. duck...o and pigs which are smarter than dogs... and I don't see you lining up to go to jail???”

Who do you mean by ‘we’?  I believe in animal rights and I certainly don’t cause any animals to suffer in farms. Intelligence doesn’t mean anything. One human is more intelligent than another, does that mean he has more right to life? What if I am smarter than you, does that mean I can kill you? Intelligence is not good reasoning for rights, at all.

“so am i carzy or am I right.... just checking”

I wouldn’t say you’re “carzy”, just very narrow-minded and unable to reason any of your points.

  3. we kill animals for food.

animals are living beings what would happen if so many dogs and cats were killed?

we would have carcasses lining our paths.

we take on the responsibility of a pet so we are the ones to make the decisions for our pets. but it is not our place to kill the animals unless they are suffering or for food.

    In china they eat dogs...

  4. I understand where you are coming from, I don't think you are crazy just a little confused. Yes, we eat animals but there is a big difference between someone torturing an animal by starving it, beating it and god knows what else to it and someone who quickly and humanly kills an animal for meat.

A person who tortures/kills animals is causing pain and distress to that animal and it has been proven that people who do this to animals often gets bored of it and moves on to humans. So they are a threat to humans and putting them away is safer for humans and animals.

A person who hunts for meat is killing the animal quickly and painlessly with a quick bullet and not doing it for a buzz or for their sick fun, they aren't torturing the animal and aren't a threat to other humans.

    Hope I helped you understand

  5. All sentient beings have the right to live.  And not everyone eats meat.  Are you familiar with the terms vegetarian or vegan.

  6. You're crazy.

  7. let's set up two definitions, animal rights and animal welfare, cuz there's a difference.

Animal rights: animals deserve the same privileges that people do in our society.  Animals were given the right by a higher power to be completely free of human interference or reaction.  Man has no right to use animals for his own purpose, including food, labor, clothing, entertainment, etc.  This is a viewpoint held by some and i think it is misplaced.

    Then there's animal welfare.

Animals may be used for human entertainment, food, clothing, labor, scientific experiments, companionship, etc.  However it is important that no unnecessary suffering falls to the animal because of it.  If we're transporting cows to slaughter we should prevent them from tearing off their own legs  en route.  I will make sure horses do not suffer pain from bad equipment and i will feed them enough to be comfortable and happy, etc.  If we use rats in experiments that involve them dying in unpleasant ways we should keep their cages clean so they don't have to live in their own f***s.  I don't think people should force dogs to injure each other: that is human-induced suffering.

I would kill every cute puppy in the world to save you or anyone else.

but purposefully causing the unnecessary, intense suffering of a living creature is something people should go to jail for.   That person chose to make dogs fight each other.i believe that God gave humans use of animals, not misuse.  I don't think that setting up a dogfighting ring can help a human life, or how burning your cat's face to punish them can help a human life, or how letting your horse starve "because he's my horse and if i want to starve him i can!" can help a human life.  I don't let the little girls who come to camp kill spiders or beetles because they're gross: I emphasize the importance of respect. you can' tell much about people by looking at how they treat their equals.

you can judge them well based on how they treat their inferiors.

  8. I don't think it is just about who is more important - humans or animals.  I think it is about regulating cruelty and inhumane behavior (if you are referring to people going to jail over dog fights etc.)

Given a choice between my dog's life and my children of course my children would come first.  That doesn't mean cruel treatment of animals is ok.  And frankly anyone who would mistreat an animal is suspect when it comes to their potential treatment of people.  If you think it is ok to abuse/mistreat an animal are you likely to find it easier to excuse violent behavior towards another human being? Quite possibly I think.

  9. Your right dude. to tell you the truth people who live in Africa or eastern europe and other poor parts of the world don't give a hoot about animal rights. the reason is ; people in Canada and USA are so rich and privileged that they don't have anything to think about other than animals. if there was a famine going on or people were dying from lack of medical care, then the money that goes to animal shelters would go to poor people.I agree with you 100% brother.

  10. I have a major problem with people who think like you, you believe humans are superior and that will stem from a religious belief that humans are the "chosen" race and dominant which therefore means we have the right to do whatever we want. Realize we are no better than animals, if anything worst. I would honestly sooner take a human life than animal because in reality we are worst than animals. And please do not put us all in that group as I am a vegetarian. I believe people are worse than animals because with the intelligence and conscious thinking we only destroy the world for the gain of ourselves, so yes you are deeply crazy in my opinion.

  11. Actually, not everyone eats animal corpse.

    Their lives are just as important as ours, actually. What have the animals done to the humans that hasn't been provoked or an act of instinct they perhaps cannot control as well as humans may be able to? In that way animals are actually above humans. Any abuse to any innocent animal or human deserves punishment. Tell me what right humans have to judge the value of the life of any other being. Seriously, some people really are just insensitive idiots who think humans are automatically above everything else. >.<;

  12. Honestly I like animals better than people.

I understand what your saying, but people do some pretty awful stuff like creating bio hazardious weapons and killing masses. Plus people pooring acid on puppies, they should be put to death.

If there were more animals and less people the world would truly be better off.

THere are so many bad people out there, I don't put any of my faith or hope in humanity anymore. Animals are innocent.

My dog saved my life. No one would do what Bear did for me.

Your not crazy...but you need to think about how MUCH greater people really are.

P.S. I only eat animals who have been killed by local farmers in a humane way. That way I know the animal werent eating there own fecies and living in tiny cages, and I'm supporting local business.

  13. If you ask me, there's no such thing as "animal rights." Animals don't have "rights." They aren't people, they aren't equal to people, end of story. That said, I still think that outright cruelty like dog fighting should be illegal. But using animals for food and clothing is perfectly fine. Animals eat each other all the time, why should we be any different? Humans need protein from meat. I don't care what PETA says, I'm not giving up my leather shoes and turkey sandwiches.
