Why do people care so much about Obama's race?

He's interracial.. his father is white, isn't he? why do people first think of him as a 'black president'

Because even if he has a white dad or mom, he is still african american. I think it is dumb for people to care so much about race anyway. People care about it though because of things that happened 40 years ago, but are still happening today, but just not as much. I don't get why everyone just can't get along but that is the world we live in

His mother was white.  His father visited him once in Hawaii.  There is no history of his father being a material source of support for his son.  Maybe, someone has a different background understanding of the candidate's childhood.  It is clear that the Democrats with a president will start passing laws to police all areas of our life.   I do not think it is a color issue.  It is a fed up with the government at all levels.  They think they have solutions because some group elected them to office.  From mayor to senator.   Just leave us alone before the nation turns against it own official government as the colonists turned against the British tax system.

The issue of race was raised after the American public heard the Rev. Wright, Obama's mentor and guide say things that were not necessarily nice about white people. (Which is pretty stupid considering that the Church was full of people of Euro-African backgrounds. It was Obama's politics that are the issue now as they were when he was running against Hillary Clinton. His politics are ultra-liberal. Hers were more middle of the road.

He's still a crook, he talks out of both sides of his mouth.  He identifies as a black man, it doesn't matter that his mom was white.  Personally, I think he's as bad as McCain.  They both suck.

I constantly hear people talking about how they're not voting for him because they think he's muslim. (Which he isn't)

i think its because we dont want change. Its america. They are supposed to be American. If it was Africa they would have a Africian president. I live in ky so i hear about this issue alot & i think tht color has nothing to do with it.
