Why do people chase storms?

  1. Storm chasing is the activity of pursuing a thunderstorm, or sometimes other severe storms such as a hurricane, for both scientific reasons and personal reasons. It has been a dangerous pastime for severe weather enthusiasts and professional meteorologists since the 1950’s. Although risky, the hobby provides chasers with considerable pleasure and satisfaction.


  2. Some people do it for scientific research, to study these storms. To better find out how they form and use that knowledge for warning people in the storm's path and maybe even someday prevent them from happening.

    Some are photographers that like to take pics of them

    and some are adrenaline junkies that like the thrill of it

  3. Business and pleasure.

  4. Some people find tornadoes intresting. they want to get a closer look and find out more about it. with out some strom chasers, we might not have a lot of pictures and videos of tornadoes to study.

  6. It beats chasing cars.  I mean, one time, i remember, i actually caught one!  I had no idea what to do next.
