  1. wasn't mass the first place in the US to allow g*y marrige so how can you say bostonians are homophobic and it is a very diverse place with people from alot of different ethic origins reside....you should really think twice about making general stereotypes b/c its just as ignorant as the homophobes/racists/antisemitics.

  2. It is a liberal place and the majority of politicians from Massachusetts are Democrats. There are lot's of g*y people in Boston, I see them holding hands all the time. Try doing that in Mississippi or Alabama, you’d probably be shot. I mean seriously, go to Mississippi or one of those deep southern states and tell them you're g*y, and you 'll be running back to Boston.

  3. Bostonians have a reputation for being racist.  But that reputation can be traced to a handful of neighborhoods.  But the Boston region on the whole is liberal.  Boston keeps electing a mayor who can't enunciate just because he's a democrat.  Massachusetts keeps electing a senator who is a drunk who murdered his girlfriend just because he's a democrat and brother to a former democratic president.

  4. They voted for a guy who gets drunk, cheats on his wife, and kills someone after crashing his car off a bridge, but he is a Democrat so they still help elect him.

On a side note: It is still tragic he has brain cancer though.

  5. Go live in Kentucky for a month, and see if you still feel that way about Boston.

Boston is considered liberal because Massachusetts is the most socialist state in the country, and the people have rights, protection against big businesses, and social programs that most Americans don't.

I grew up with classic Boston liberals, and was taught about diversity and to treat all people equally, etc. They can be ignorant, condescending or hypocritical... but mostly it's ignorance and being politically insular. The average Bostonian would be appalled if they had a run-in with real white supremacists or g*y bashers.

  6. My dad always said that the Northern attitude towards race was that "we believe in equality, just not in our neighborhood." Boston liberals believe that the downtrodden (anyone who didn't go to Harvard, BU, BC, or MIT, or doesn't have a trust fund) can't take care of themselves and need guidance.

Thus you get Massachusetts -- the Nanny State. Pockets of intense racism and homophobia, with whole areas of white-bread suburbanite families that talk a good game but don't ever go to Boston itself.

  7. Most Bostonians aren't,  but the ones who are are extremely vocal about it

Massachusetts in general,  is a pretty open minded area

  8. Most people vote for democrats because there parents did. A blind loyalty.

I don't have any problem with homosexuals, but I think the people should have had a right to vote on g*y marriage. Who is the government to impose anything on the people of Massachusetts?

I'm not racist but the state has been rather anti White, especially towards working class Whites. Check out who works for the government. It is lazy minorities, many don't even speak English. And they let people of there own race cut Whites in line.

Keep in mine that non blacks cannot go to many parts of Dorchester, Roxbury and Mattapan. So who is really the racists? I don't see Blacks and latinos being chased out of South Boston and Charlestown

  9. I completely understand what you are saying. Heres the thing... there is no one bostonian! Its really diverse here. You will find homophobic, stuck up snobs and then people who are open to everything. it really just depends on who you run into.
