Why do people complain and are so dramatic about the MacBook Air?

I just bought a macbook air last week and Im super happy about it. I can say that I don't regret buying it at all. And yes I understand the whole deal with not having a drive or the one usb port. But people go beyond to saying that they hate it when mostly likely they haven't used one. They can just simply say that they don't like for whatever reason but going all the way to saying "hate it." Its just funny for me.

  1. EDIT: Before you go berserk at me, I am answering your question XD, not trying to make you madder by expressing my feelings about it.

Just to clear things up, it's usually users that use their laptops alot, or users who are looking for something that is larger, that are complaining. The macbook air was made for portability and minimal multitasking, not for gaming, photoshopping, media etc.

It's hard to imagine someone playing Crysis on a macbook air. The 1 USB port is a downside, but that is how portability works, same with the no-dvd-drive, seeing as a cd drive would be about the size of the macbook air.

And plus, Apple was so confident and boasting about it, almost everywhere, once it was released, it was pretty much a toy. Afterwards people just realised that it didn't give the bang for the buck, you can get a 14" model laptop, with way better specs(not as expensive, but not as portable either) for alot less, presumably $600-$1200 cheaper.

By the way, enjoy it before it overheats =p joking.

  2. It really depends on who is complaining. A lot of people simply hate Apple, or Mac computers. They get annoying and start pushing out meaningless rants. There are also a lot of High end IT professionals who get on its case. One, it's an expensive computer near 2 thousand bucks, but its specifications don't justify it. The weaker processor and integrated video card aren't up to par with other laptops with the same price tag. The fact that it's small design with a small fan means that it is likely to overheat. One USB port is not enough for a lot of people, and they still want a CD/DVD/BluRay Disk drive. Why do they have to pay for a low end computer that has a price tag that could get them a gaming PC. Others just complain about the price and will just state whatever they heard about it (just like how people bash windows vista without having tried it, yet say bad things about it). On the other hand, there are people who actually DO hate it. Many have gone and tried mac computers, and not liked the operating system. Others have found that it overheats on them with CPU/GPU intensive workloads - which it would, since the MB Air isn't meant to do that. Many of those people didn't even know that it was a low end computer, since it was expensive.

  3. most people that use pc's jump at any chance to rant about how much macs suck.  the fact is that most people dont understand how enjoyable and easy they are to use.  they are probably the best computers to use for everyday things (just not gaming).  I am a pc guy through and through and i can admit defeat.  its time the other fanboys do too.

    enjoy your macbook air!!

  4. One problem that they say is it overheats easily especially when doing CPU intensive tasks.
