  1. Part of it is laziness, part of it is lack of information, and part is the fear of actually making waves.  People in society like to complain, but don't care enough to actually take initiative to make changes.  Many times, these changes can only happen after a long-term dedication to the effort and a lot of work.  Also, people who aren't very informed are not the type to be open to new ideas or perspectives.  People also don't fully understand issues enough to begin to suggest changes and don't choose to educate themselves.  Possibly the biggest barrier is fear.  We are all conditioned not to challenge authority or offend other people.  People are genuinely afraid to challenge social institutions for fear of punishment or being stigmatized.

  2. Because thinking through things and finding solutions is hard and often makes people uncomfortable.  It's much easier to complain and blame someone else.

  3. Complaining is easier than making change. Complaining draws attention to yourself, even if it is negative attention. Some people seem to thrive on the "drama" of their lives. I think it's lazy and pathetic, but then again, I've never been one to stay stuck in a rut for long. If you don't like something, CHANGE IT!!!

  4. it's easy and natural. it takes concentration to be open minded.
