  1. VERY few people are content - they all want more - NEVER satisfied with what they have or with what THEY have bought.

Even some of those that can buy THE WORLD (figuratively speaking) want more of feel that they have been taken advantage of....

  2. Not only is it a major purchase, usually the second most expensive thing you'll ever buy (other than your house), the process is painful.

First, you have to pick what you want from a dizzying array of models and options, trying to decide on the basis of a five minute test drive whether you'll like the car for the next 5-10 years.  Then you have to figure out what to do with your old car.  Then you have to negotiate the price with a salesman who is so good at negotiating that he can do it for a living.  Then you have to arrange for insurance and registration and financing and the down payment.  Then you have to pay for it.

Then, and only then, can you actually drive the thing.

I wish more places had the "no dicker sticker".  I HATE dealing with car salesmen.  OTOH, I know people who consider the negotiation the most fun part of the process.

  3. Vehicles cost money, big money especially for reliable ones (and even then there's always something) Given some people are stretching their income to cover living expenses, a vehicle on top of that does get to be difficult, and to them it could be no different than someone with a larger bank roll buying a space shuttle.

Now, a vehicle is transporting the buyer and buyer's family. given that I bought a van a few days ago...  I went in depth on many things such as cost, and the safety of the vehicle.  I'm certainly not going to pay too much money, and i am not going to pay any money to drive my family in an unsafe manner.

I looked at many different vehicles, I looked at mileage, the condition of the vehicle, the safety of the vehicle, the price, and how the vehicle operated.  We were very picky after viewing and test driving several different cars.

  4. depending on some peoples income its the price of a space shuttle. And considering rocket fuel is just getting more expensive........

  5. Well cars can be woth $14,000 or more. now imagine how hard you have to work for that money, when you are spending money people want EVERYTHING to be perfect, so when the smallest scratch at the non- visible part of the car is there, well it an't perfect and they want it to be perfect. So thye complain!
