Question:

Why do people constantly slag on Black women and act like white women are so perfect and nice all the time?

Seems like so many questioners are calling black women bitter, angry, rude but conveniently ignore the fact there are white women who aren't exactly nice, kind or ladylike either. Even if a black woman is quiet, studious and reserved then they're labelled "uppity." If we're friendly and gregarious then we're "loud" and "ghetto." Seems like black women are damned if we do..and damned if we don't. Why can't people see us not as angels or demons, but as PEOPLE with the same virtues and vices as anyone else?

  1. Because we are looked as "the angry black woman" Do you see how the media portrays us sometimes? Neck rolling, snapping fingers, just ignorance. I don't do neither but I do have a attitude just so I can defend myself when needed.

White women are not perfect neither are black, Asian, hispanic women. Its just that black women are looked down upon when it comes to women in general. We are looked as bitchy and too strong for our own good.

  2. They do it the other way around as well. It's not a one way street. Whichever race these people are it's because they are petty narrow minded jerks.

  3. From a white guy point of view! (not that anyone cares)

Its the black guys that do it to you.

Why do they prize the white women? Do you know how that looks on black women?

It's like what the heck is so wrong with black women that the men don't even want to be with them?

  4. Because people watch too much TV, stay in the house too much and don't attempt to meet new people or at least learn about folks different from them.

  5. These people who say this type of stuff have low self-esteem themselves. They need to talk about Black women to make themselves feel better about them. It doesn't bother me at all because they don't know every single black woman on this Earth, so their opinion doesn't mean **** .

  6. I don't pay a lot of attention to the Yahoo! Answers community.  They don't represent the majority of the world.  In any case, I guess the reason is the stereotypes that are constantly perpetuated in the media.  People look for it.  Each reality show has to have at least one "Angry Black Person".  I don't really pay too much attention.  Let people have whatever perceptions they like.  It has no bearing on your life.

  7. I think it's the huxtable syndrome. Remember when the show was wildly popular, there was an uproar because Claire was smart, funny, and an amazing woman. Oddly enough the some of the black community had an anal spasm because of it!

Sad but true. People see black woman(most of the time) as loud, and annoying. I agree with that another answerer said, they don't know anything else. When they come across someone who isn't the atypical black woman, they embrace it. Instead of relying on movies and predominantly black shows where the "black woman" embodies that persona, they need to instead turn their attention to black woman who have made an impact on this world. I know that no one wants to say it, but look and Condeleeza Rice...I mean come on! give credit where credit is due!

Trust when I say, people are taking notice..and thank the LORD some of the stereotypes are fading, not disappearing...but fading.

  8. I totally agree

Have you noticed that black women are also looked down upon as "Hoes"

HA! The only hoes I know are all white!

    Now thats real talk.
