Why do people continuously downplay championships a player has won?

I hate hearing "Wade had Shaq", "Jordan had Pippen", "The Twin Towers", and "Kobe had Shaq". These are always coming out of LeBron fans, Kobe haters, and Kobe fans trying to prove Kobe's better than Jordan. Honestly, it pisses me off. A championship is a championship. Robert Horry made shots and some buzzer beaters in the playoffs, right? He worked for those rings, not as hard as most people, but he worked for them.

This is to the people that say Wade and Kobe had Shaq and Jordan had Pip. Be prepared because I'm going to drop some fundamental knowledge on your dumb ***es. Basketball is a team sport. Yeah, now you understand why LeBron isn't the only player on the floor with that jersey, huh? Yeah, he has teammates. Did you guys know you have a sharp shooter and a center that is capable of scoring 20 ppg?

The only time you should downplay a championship is if players of a team cheat like KG, Brown, and Pierce did in the Finals. Still, it shows they have heart...In a way...

  1. Big Z,do you understand what he's saying? He's saying that people shouldn't downplay rings,a ring is a ring.

He didn't say a ring is more important than skills.A ring plays a part in rankings, but not a huge one.

  2. They lack knowledge and master of ignorance.

  3. This will never end. The Jordan vs whoever debate. I am sick and tired of this! Can we move on?

  4. If they hate then let em hate and watch the rings pile up

  5. People want to see the best players get championships through the most adverse and extreme situations possible.  No matter the circumstance fans will always point to something that favored a superstar winning a title that had nothing to do with their individual skills, then downplay that player(s) contribution.  People want to knock the best down off their pedestal just so they can say they failed or that they are not as good as they appear, through championships or stats or whatever.

  6. Well some of them are mad and just hating..

  7. what determines a great player is if they use their skills and contribute a large amount to the championship.  you can't win with just one star player.  you often need 2 or even 3 star players (ie. recent champs boston, san antonio, detroit, los angeles, miami).

  8. So you're saying Robert Horry's better than Kobe? Darko Milicic better than Karl Malone?

People downplay championships because it's a team achievement.
