Why do people cut down so many trees?

as u can see many tress are being cut day by day what's your opinion about this? i think in the future just give it 20 years estimated there will be no more trees )=

Because they are     STUPID ever one knows we need trees to make air that we need to breath if ever one planted one tree we would not have the green house affect

Also because they might need:

1. Fuel to heat themselves or cook their food

2. Wood to build shelters

3. Cleared land to raise crops for themselves or to feed animals.

I know that *you* don't have to do any of those things for yourself, but lots of people don't have a choice.

it's all about MONEY; they pretend it is for some noble reason - like clearing land to plant food but we are producing more food than ever before yet millions are starving or dying from hunger;

trees are cut for two main purposes - for timber and to clear the land for agricultural uses.

the problem is that trees are the best container of CO2 since they are made from material that is basically CO2 + H2O (water), reducing the land area covered by trees causes immediately or in the long run an increase in the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere.

what we should do is plant more trees than the number of trees that are cut or die. these will act as a CO2 pump, removing this gas from the air.
