Why do people cut their hair?

Question

why Human beings spend their money on haircuts instead of letting the hair grow. You dont see any animals cutting their hair or nails because we need our hair like animals need fur. Is part of nature so humans should stop cutting their hair right??

Sometimes they just cut their hair because some people look better with short hair

Umm, if we didn't cut our hair, we would be walking around with it dragging on the ground.  That's not sanitary at all.  Besides, you wouldn't want your hair to be stepped on.  It's too hard to keep that long of hair clean.

a lot of people would be out jobs then. and why would we all want pretty much the same length of hair; long. not very many people would like that...

some people like to be unique and some of us show with our hair and finger nails...girls more then guys but still it helps us be our own person...

well i used to grow my hair and it was awesome but i am a greaser and it was a little weird seeing a greaser with long hair plus if we didnt itd be disgusting d**n i mean hair draging in the dirt

Because human hair grows really long and can get stuck in your ***, lol :P

people cut their hair coz they want to;

maybe some people dont want really long hair they want short hair;

animals do get their fur and nails cut;

having long hair is really hard to keep clean...and split ends; i dont think people want split ends.

ANd  I dont go to a salon to get my hair cut I do it myself.

Our hair and clothes are ways we express ourselves. Women used to keep their hair long, and some still do, but they put it up in creative ways so that it is out of the way during the day so they can prepare food, use the toilet, etc. without it being in the way. I cut my own hair and always have. It saves a LOT of money.

Another reason to cut hair is because the ends get split and frizzy after awhile. in summer, short hair is cooler. Having different hair styles is just another way we show our individual tastes.

Well some people like to let it grow long but some people like to get their hair bobbed or  want it at their shoulders. But even when you do just let it grow long, all the ends of your hair gets very dry after a while and when its dry its not very nice.so when its dry you go to the hairdressers and just get the ends where its dry cut off.

Why do people learn to read or write? Or play sports? Or speak languages? Why do we waste our time and money on that stuff? You dont see any animals playing basketball, or reading, or talking to each other. That's not a part of nature, so we human beings should stop doing all that stuff, right?
