  1. People debate so as to remove ignorance, think about that.

  2. Debate shows all sides of a problem, not just the sides you want to see. It exposes people to a different point of view, a different side of things and lets the audience weigh all of the differences to come up with their own conclusion.

  3. To prove that their point of view is right.

  4. People debate to show their strength and knowledge on issues. It also shows their weakness and character which means a lot to some ie: presidential debates.

  5. In a REAL debate...a LOT transpires.  Problem is the moderator is a liberal who asks democrats what kind of comb they prefer and asks Republicans why they voted for something controversial...the GOPer gets a can-o-worms that slime him up/ make him sweat bullets.

Candidates ask each other softball questions to make themselves look/or the answerer to look better.  Too much set up and knock down.

Al Gore had us rolling in the floor with his slicked-down Reagan hair and Reagan mannerisms in Debate 2?  Or 3...anyway Gore got all copies pulled off the internet...TOO Embarassing for Al Gore with Global Hot Air Myth to do.

  6. No, I disagree. debate is useful because it resembles a laser and the issue resembles a gall stone. Gallstone gone, no more blockage and thus an open space of mind remains.

  7. cause they dont want to call it an argument.
