Why do people despise Hollister and Abercrombie so much?

I see a lot people saying that Hollister & Abercromie are stupid or they just hate it so much. Why? What's wrong with them?

I was just wondering ^___^.

Some people prefer not to be walking billboards... since some of their clothing have a huge print of the store name on it. And I agree with the status thing, not everyone can afford Hollister or A&F. or maybe the fact that they charge you over $40 for just a teeshirt while quality isn't very great. Dunno really, depends on the person.

eh.. i think it's the people who wear the clothes that give the stores a bad name. plus the fact that people consider it 'prep' and such when it's no where near it, well i dislike that part. it's tough to explain but i hope i helped :)

1. It gets too much praise then it deserves, there's nothing fashion forward about any garment there.  Yet people who shop there consider themselves well-dressed.  Go figure.

2. The prices are too high for the quality.  A lot of the materials are quite thin and wear out easily.  Yet, they have enough money to have yellow receipts with red birds on them.  I have a feeling THAT's where my money is going.

3. The clothing is too common.

Nothing it wrong with those stores. Some people just hate it because they think people who wear that are "preppy" and have no style of their own because mostly "popular" people wear them and they think they follow the crowd. But really, I think it's just a clothing store and it's no where near to "prep".

It's just that almost everyone (at school) wears clothes from those stores, and it's very likely, that if you buy something from there, another person will have the same shirt.  And like it's also kind of a status thing, stores like Hollister and Abercrombie & Fitch are so expensive, that not everyone can afford it.

Easily:

1. You pay them to advertize for them?? I never knew things worked that way

2. It's the cheapest quality of clothes ever

3. People assume that just because you wear them that you're rich, which in most cases, isn't true.

4. People assume that when you wear their stuff they're preppy. Hollister and Abercrombie are a common misconception of preppy now because they couldn't afford the real preppy clothes.

5. It's made by child labor

6. Everyone wears it

7. You can't be the only one to have a shirt

8. Their clothes are so generic

9. It's not my/many other people's styles.

Umm..i dont but i think its becasue alot  of people shop there and think there the s***t when there wearing it! Its how you look at it. or becasue its really expensive... its just there opion i personally dont like aero casue all they ahve is sweatshirts...but idk hope this helps

i love those stores. i think those people want to be different than everyone else.  if you can't have something, a lot of people just pick on the people who do have. a lot of people just don't want to be preps.
