All living things die not just us. It`s called the cycle of life. That`s why you have to make the most of it.

     One of the reasons is that if no-one died, the overpopulation would be untenable.  The real question is; what happens after we die?  One thing's certain, I think.  None of the religions has it right.  The fundamentalist Christians seem to think that if they accept Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour, they'll be taken to Heaven and live in bliss forever.  The liklihood of this happening is, at best, wishful thinking.  Death is the great mystery of life.  It's the one thing we're not supposed to know.

Because our bodies aren't built to last forever. We're designed to reach maturity, have offspring, and then...

Some people think that because humans are some of the only animals to live past the age when they are fertile, that we are designed to be grandparents.

Nearly all of the universe is empty space. Nearly all of history will occur without humanity. Nearly all of human history will occur without you as an individual. You can't think of your death as a sudden black hole appearing in a canvas of light. Your life is a brief flickering of light in a space of darkness.

But that's why life is so precious while it lasts.
