I just don't understand I am a Hendrick motorsports fan & I love Denny & Kyle Busch!!!! He is a clean driver unless someone messes with him. I don't want to hear he is a crybaby! Most of them are after they get wrecked! What has he done to you????

  1. For me its his disrespect of other drivers that make me DISLIKE him.

  2. I do not dislike Denny. I LOVE Denny. He is one of my top favorite drivers. I also LOVE his commercials! I don't care what people say Denny is my favorite driver and I am proud of it!

  3. I nominate BradDawg for best answer.

  4. He hasnt done anything personally to me, and i wont call him a crybaby if thats what u want, so here it is...he is a whiny b*tch!! there ya go!!

    Go Kasey Go!!

    # 9 all the way baaaby!!

  5. ya i don't get it ether he didn't do anything to anyone so ya and he isn't a crybaby the only one who is a crybaby  in racing is TONY STUART

  6. personally, he's never done anything to me - none of the drivers have. i used to like denny when he first came up to the cup level.  he was a brash young kid who liked to tell about how he had never raced the track, but had played it on video games.  he had that "aw shucks"-ness to him then.

this year, he seems to be trying to put on more of a "bad boy" image, for which tony and kyle are notorious.  problem is, he just isn't as adept at the verbal sparring necessary (with other drivers or with the press) to do it well.  he's a nice guy and all, but denny doesn't come across as "the sharpest tool in the jgr toolbox."

in short, i'd like him more if he went back to his old image and not try so hard to take on the image of his teammates. as winter glory said above from the answer she chose, denny has taken on the attitude of a tony stewart and a kyle busch, but hasn't really earned it yet.  they have.

    that's my $0.18.

  7. 1. Cocky

    2. dumber than a mound of dirt

    3. Toyota

    4. JGR

    5. tough guy act ISN'T working.

    6. UPS > Fed Ex (at least in non racing terms)

  8. If you were really looking for an answer to your question, BradDawg gave it to you -- give him the 10 points.

If you were just looking for someone to validate your own opinion and agree with you, you've got quite a few choices, but BradDawg hit the nail on the head. Denny has a poor sense of self. His attitude about races during the immediate post-race interview is reprehensible. The most recent example, of course, is what happened during the Nationwide race at Lowe's, especially since Denny isn't even in contention as far as points standings in that series is concerned. It's not so much his actions during the race, it's how he assumed the role of protagonist and refused to take responsibility for what everyone else saw with their own eyes. Denny treated himself like he deserved leeway because he's some sort of hotshot, while no self-respecting driver in any series should ever want for other drivers not to give them a run for their money.

Personally, for me -- I just haven't gotten over how selfish and constructed Denny's last move in Richmond was.

  9. he acts to g*y

  10. People who dont like my boy Kyle are just jealous dumb dale jr. fans. They are jealous that Kyle has won 4 races so far this year and that idiot jr. has not won one in over two years. He is so bad.

  11. My biggest, and only problem with him is localized.

Locally, if he replaced everything from the neck up he'd make me happy.

I agree with the above answers. He has gotten cocky, rude, and disrespectful. (IE the Kyle Petty incident).

If he starts using his head, and using his ears and mouth in proportion to each other, I will start to have respect for him again.

Until then, he's just a punk.

  12. I used to like Hamlin when he started racing in Cup. He has a ton of talent and was well-mannered and well-spoken.

But somewhere along the way, a little success went to his head. I really started disliking him last year when he wrecked Kyle Petty and then proceeded to bash him in interviews. Kyle is one of NASCAR's elder statesmen, a longtime veteran, and has changed a lot of kids' lives with the Victory Junction Gang Camp. A hotshot sophomore driver had no business disrespecting such a respected veteran in the sport.

Then this year, he became the ultimate example of hypocrasy when he bashed Brad Keselowski for not respecting him (calling himself a "veteran" even though he's only in his 3rd full Cup season) after a Nationwide race. Denny sure didn't have a problem disrespecting veterans when he dumped Kyle Petty last year, but now he gets mad when a young guy races him hard but clean? Furthermore, if you don't want to race with young inexperienced drivers, stay the h**l out of the Nationwide series!

Like I said, Denny Hamlin has a lot of talent and potential, but he needs to check his attitude. He sees Tony Stewart acting like a jerk and thinks he can do it too. But Denny has not even come close to earning what Tony has earned. And until he does, he needs to know his role and shut his mouth.

  13. he is a cry baby

  14. He wrecked my guy Kyle Petty and then ran his mouth about it. Kyle should have done more than just slap Denny's visor!

  15. I asked the same question a few weeks back, Sorry that you don't want to hear the crybaby comment, that seemed to be a pretty popular answer. As well as he thinks everything should always go his way.

Didn't change my mind, I still like him, I was just curious about all the dislike. I don't get it either..

Added: Denny has attitude but can't back it up!

That's what I chose as best answer for my question, it seemed to be the consensus.

  16. Maybe since he started his second year at Gibbs, things changed, got more aggresive a la Tony Stewart style and mix of Kyle Busch attitude.

    But that's racin.

  17. 1. A lot of them blame what happened at Charlotte with Keselowski on him, because Keselowski is a JR Motorsports driver (If you are a Denny Hamlin fan, you would blame Keselowski...however Jr. Nation is bigger then Denny nation, so he got more blame for that. I'm a Denny fan so I thought it was Keselowskis fault for bumping into him and then pulling along side of him under caution, but it depends on how you want to see it. For example, how many hate posts have you seen about him since this happened?)

    2. He's very good and consistent (Some people do not like it probably if he beats the driver they cheer for)

    3. Some think he is arrogant or cocky (I must not be paying attention much but I like his personality and attitude, but some don't. He doesn't really come off like that to me.)

I bet you if he was on Hendrick or Jr Motorsports you would see a lot more fans of his, though. Those are just some of the reason why I think some people might not like him to well. I think he is a great driver and person, though.

  18. I have nothing against Denny Hamlin but all fans don't have to like a driver just because you do & everyone is entitled to like or dislike a driver whether it's Kyle, Gordon, Jr or whomever.  There is basically only one driver I don't really care for & he hasn't won in about 2 1/2 years

  19. Hamlins alright I dont have nothing against him unless he messes with Johnson which he hasnt

  20. A lot of that comes down to answers to questions immediately after on-track incidents and fan perception. Fair or not, so much comes down to what comes out of a driver's mouth when they are most on edge after getting KO'd from a race.

  21. he drives a toyota.
